Yeah, we dont know what plan we are even on anymore!
iinet or westnet or internode are possibly the three leading adsl providers at the moment.I love my superfast iinet connection, I recommend them to anyone, or Westnet if you are a little computer illiterate and need good service.

TPG is very good value, but it has persistent problems at 1.30-3am. Plus they went down for an entire day not so long ago.
I'm with them at the moment, and I'm not planning on switching since I love having generous d/l limits...but it's not perfect.
if you need a phone line I sugges you go with IINet, I also suggest you read up about phoneline-less ADSL, they have in in europe, its where the household doesn't need a line subscription to receive an adsl signal (not sure how they do it tho).I'm thinking about TPG, but I don't have a phoneline. Can I do that through these guys or will I need a phoneline through another company first?
And what are these problems at 1:30-3?
had TPG as my original adsl provider, very good value plans, but their major problem was their networked sucked donkey balls, always had downtime throughout the week and could barely maintain a connection longer than 12~14 hours. Are you stupid, TPG have 25GB worth of Usage on ADSL 2+ for just $50 a month.
Totally agree, iinet FTW if you are getting it with iiphone. Westnet if you are not so skilled at computers and want the support.if you need a phone line I sugges you go with IINet, I also suggest you read up about phoneline-less ADSL, they have in in europe, its where the household doesn't need a line subscription to receive an adsl signal (not sure how they do it tho).
IINet plans may seem expensive at first, but I highly recommend you bundle a lower level plan with VOIP, +$10, double download limit, speeds up to 24000kb(bits)ps (3.5~4mb/s download, but you will never get that in australia, i get ~800kb/s max and its always connected roughly 8000~9000 kb(bits)ps)
First question tho, what is your spend limit and what will you do mostly?
And two - do not ever consider Telstra/Optus/AAPT etc. I will explain why later if you need.

don't know if they have remedied such problems since, but I still wouldn't go to them.
edit:
after looking at their peaks I wouldn't recommend them to heavy users, their off peak is only 6 hours, 1am/7am and 3am/9am, iiNet has a 10 hour 2am/12pm

20+40 is better suited.
I can get up at 7am, set my downloads to run till 12.
and the peak starts at 2am.
With TPG if you wake up at 7am, you are already using your main peak. The reason I said i wouldn't recommend for heavy users is because you are guaranteed to use your main peak first everytime.
Iam with Optus, they are shithouse. We pay like 40 bucks for 2 gig, 4 gig off peak.
