Internet set up time

Hi all,
Movng into a new place and trying to get my internet set up as quickly as possible while still getting a good service.

Does anyone know the setup/start up times for companies when you order cable or adsl?

From memory with telstra you just have to wait until they post the modem out - so maybe a week?

Can take up to 6 months for them to transfer all the gigabytes into your router

yeah im figuring about a week.

just dont have time to ring heaps of internet providers chasing up the time lengths

Get a cheap SIM and hotspot a phone if you need something quick and temporary.

Last week I bought an Optus SIM for $10 that gave me 15GB of data for 7 days when activated.
