Interpol

Seem to be one of the forgotten bands when talking about indie music especially when talking about the indie scene coming out of New York in the early 00's with the Strokes being the main attraction.
Whats everyone thoughts on this New York band? 4 albums now and personally have been my favourite band for as long as I can remember, the way they manufacture songs is terrific with plenty of emotion and very technical styles.

There first two albums were mastory and is what set them up for some fame however I feel undeservedly they have gone back into the shadows with the last two albums, OUr Love to Admire and Interpol Self Titled. I agree with most critics that they were not mainstream but the way they ahve been able to bring different things to the table for every album and still deliver great art makes me appreciate them further.

So who else out there is a big Interpol fan? It seems a bit of an acquired taste, because they are easy to accept and like but not many people really love there music. So whats everyones thoughts on the New York Indie band Interpol?

I like them alot too, far better than the Strokes.

While each album has been less good than the previous one IMO, I thought the 3rd was still very good.

there's nothing wrong with interpol...it's just they're a bit boring to me. they've got a few good songs but i dont really think they're worth the effort.

the fact they're mentioned in the same discussion as the strokes says it for me as well. i find the strokes pretty boring.

they're brilliant, but i'm very biased as theyre pretty much my favourite band...

im glad you mentioned antics as mastory though, because it seems to be particularly underrated in comparison to tobl, which to me is just as good as the second offering.

think theyve copped some unfair flak for olta and ST too, and while i think they arent as strong for the duration in comparison to the first two, they have moments of brilliance with songs such as rest my chemisty, pace is the trick, memory serves, lights etc. god, lights is brilliance.

but i love them - song structure, bass line, voice. everyyyythinggg
