In the shop, at the top is a button with a shield on it. It has the number of gyms you are currently defending on it.

When you click that button, you get 10 coins and 500 star dust for every gym you hold.

It then starts a 20 hour count down to click it again.

So your best bet is to grab a bunch of gyms, hit the button, then ignore gyms for 20 hours.

If anybody's stuck in the office or whatever and wants a few hundred extra metres on their eggs, I've found that occasionally switching wifi on or off increases the avatar wandering a bit. Obviously not efficient but it's good for a bit of extra mileage when you can't leave.

Going to map settings and switching off GPS and using WiFi/4G only adds a few extra too. Remember to switch it back when you need high accuracy though (like when youre driving to a location and using maps to get you there).

I've found just leaving the application open at work has my avatar walking off on his own at times. I did about 1.5km after lunch yesterday without moving.

Read the OP for incense not working. When you turn your incense on does it start from 30 mins or 28.5 mins?

Changed my clock to auto and a few started showing up

Only problem then was the only two that appeared that ive seen very little of (Staryu and Nidoran) both caused it to freeze when i git them in the ball

Also I've found that when it freezes when you've caught a pokemon let it load once and close the app (swipe out for ios) and then reopen it. I haven't lost a pokemon I've caught after freezing since doing this.

When you say "let it load" do you mean let the little icon in the top left cycle once, then double tap the home button, slide up to close app and re-open?

I've been closing that app like that (excluding the part where you pay attention to it loading) and lost all of mine.
