I mean, I did break my first iPhone 4 and it would have been nice to flip the sim into the iPhone 3GS, but it's hardly the end of the world and your service provider will just give you one IIRC.

If the micro sim permits the phone to be more compact / feature packed, then so be it.

Unless it is a new industry standard and all phones from now on will have it, it is a joke and reeks of apple's culture that they are better than everyone else!!!

apple was not the first to use micro sim, so it can be argued that its just the next step in the evolution of the sim card.

They started out being credit card sized, then they went to the size that we've all been using for years, and now micro sim is the next step. The idea is that they're all backwards compatible, the contact area on a micro sim is the same as its previous two predecessors.

i believe this is the first product to use the microsim.

Yea i agree with that but the iphone isn't the smallest phone going around and you'd think they could have done a normal one????

Maybe a sim holder with every phone for transfer to other phones would have been a good idea??

It's annoying coz you find times as you did when you need to swap sims and to go back to another one requires a holder or activation!

It's not a major deal you're right, just a pain in the ass when things happen like what occurred with yours.
