Afternoon all!
Having a party in a few weeks & using the Ipod for music. Small problem I have is that with various sources (cd's, downloads) comes various levels of sound.
Is there a setting in the Ipod (classic) I can use to make the sound levels on songs all come out the same?
I've tried looking however I am also technologically inept:eek:

Cheers

Here's what iTunes Help has to say about it:

iTunes Help said:
To set your iPod to play all songs at the same volume:
Choose Edit > Preferences, click Playback, and make sure Sound Check is selected.

Note:This setting makes all iTunes music and video play at the same volume level.

Connect your iPod to your computer.

When your iPod appears in the iTunes window, select it.

Do one of the following:

For iPod (3rd generation), click the Summary tab.

For iPod (1st or 2nd generation), click the Settings tab.

Select Enable Sound Check.

That should do it :thumbsu:

I've used this program for years
http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/
Normalizes mp3s to what ever dB level you want and also lets you know if there is clipping so it can be avoided. Its awesome.

Takes a while to get your collection done at the beginning but after that its just a matter of running any new stuff through as you get it.
