I personally think that Collingwood sometimes doesn't pay the respect deserved - the 1st GF showed that, but they came to play the 2nd...

Both games against us, they clearly didn't prepare IMO.

I think people don't release just how good we CAN be. Collingwood didn't LET us do anything, we went out there and showed the world not once, BUT TWICE, of EXACTLY what we're capable of. If Collingwood can win a flag and we CAN beat them with the efforts provided on both occasions, then there's NO reason why we can't win a flag also. I don't care if people want to use our current youngsters/re-bulding/blah blah blah as an excuse; WE ARE CAPABLE! FACT!

A Micky Malthouse team that won 17 matches in the 'home and away' just "didn't prepare" each time it came up against Melb ?

Insightful.

Thanks.

About as insightful as yours - we were the whipping boys of the league for the last few years, surely they were thinking 'bye'. Lack of respect in my opinion isn't preparing properly.

Yes, especially after round 2.

We lost by under a kick to the Bulldogs. Three games where we pushed top 4 sides to within points. We should have beaten Freo in W.A.

Have a look at the Pies and the Dogs games against other 'also rans' and explain to me why they suddenly chose to take those sides seriously, but not ours ?

It's a little bit deeper than the Pies "not turning up to play". Others have given good clues in this very thread if you bother to read it.

who gives a shit, we'll be there soon. i'm sick of spending september not caring.

IMO 3 keys to beating Collingwood, 1. Attacking through the midfield(not necessarily the corridor) quickly, ie. not letting them set their zone/press/third man up. 2. Long, penetrating, accurate kicks into the forward line. 3. Quick, dangerous, accountable forwards.

We definitely meet the first and the third is developing nicely. We lack the accuracy in the second point though, bar Davey (and Green but he's not often the kicker), we should hopefully see an improvement there next year from our younger players.

what helps in beating collingwood is not having a spud ruckmen to beat jolly, brisbane beat them as well.

If Jolly is soundly beaten Collingwood will get shaken
