IMHO this season is all about injury and pace.

I suspect that there will be a lot of burn out and dependence on depth.

Lot's of injuries, so will making cash save you from donuts ant the end?

round 3 is finished, its a long season and you have to have a strategy, you could trade early to cover injuries but what happens if come mid season you've copped your fair whack of injuries? keep trading and have nothing left come end of the season?

people who did their homework (as opposed to simply reading the herald sun) will have a full team with pretty much every player being named week-in week-out. Those benchies are there for a reason 1) make money and 2) play when someone goes down

This was a highly unusual round for injuries, dnt think we'll see it replicated again this season..well i hope not.

Roo has to go, whether or not u d/grade him for a rookie to make cash or perhaps a cheaper keeper or a straight swap for Brown, Chappy, ROK is up to you, depending on ur goal ie league win or overall ranking.

When though? I won't be trading him out this week, that's for sure.

Some quite high b/e's over the next couple of weeks for a few of the high end premiums.

Happy to have one of Rockliff, Yarran or Hitchcock take the field whilst the prices drop.

Bench players are vital to prevent you from having to trade out would-be keepers when they are suspended for a round or two. Case in point, i personally had shaw+hurn not play last week but was lucky enough to have both bench guys play and score respectfully more than zero, albeit not quite at the same level as what i'd expect from shaw and hurn. Copping a donut was not an option this early in the season and while i could have traded hurn or shaw to another premium who was playing, i don't see the point in wasting a trade from one prem to another as it isn't improving the team as a whole.

As someone said, if you've done your homework and have had a bit of luck when tossing up between 'player x vs player y' for bench positions, be prepared to sub a couple of them in if a starter is out for a couple of weeks rather than blow a trade straight up. You might lose a few points, but the trade will most likely be of more value to you later on when serious injuries start hitting or when BBBH is delisted from the AFL for 18months for punching an opposition cheersquad member

Interesting point..I was thinking along the same lines as I have Hitchcock and Gumby on the bench to cover for Roo and tippett. However knowing that Roo will be out for a while and Tippett is clearly struggling anyway. Shouldn't I take advantage of someone like Rioli (who will be going up in price) for Tippett from say a Roo to a Pav trade this week. Waiting until next week I will not be able to get Rioli. I guess however if I wait a week then Tippett would be back and I would have at saved 1 trade. Then i would just choose the best trade for Roo.

Any thoughts???

That sounds fair enough, Esorhali. Roo isn't going to lose value over the next couple of weeks whereas Tippett is likely to spiral out of control while his poor performances of his keep up, so in effect you are wanting to stem the bleeding i guess.

Having said that, a week or two might be fine if you have guys that are spiraling out of control value wise, but i wouldn't plan on leaving him on the bench for more than a few weeks as that 600k could be getting you some juicy points elsewhere.

I have since heard that Tippett may get back this week or at worst next week. Do I trade Roo for Brown and hang onto Tippett? Or trade Roo for pav and Tippett for Rioli? aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! decisions !!!!
decisions!!!!!!!!!!!!

tippett may recover from his ankle injury, but theres still the knee tendonitis to consider. he still wasn't playing anywhere near his best before he injured himself against melbourne. personally i don't expect him to score well till he's rested which is why i traded him last week

Ditto. There were calls of "he's a premium!" but really, he is only priced as a premium, not scoring like one.
Ditto Clark.

having a big pair is the answer, u need the balls to take a risk to win in supercoach, it aint the money
