It is very obvious to me that Rooey needs a rest. Why not be smart about it and give him an extended rest and bring him back after the bye. That way he can rest up his knee and freshen up his mind. Then we can give Pady an extended run in the ones. It's a no brainer I reckon and a win win for everyone.

I agree totally. The question has been posed and assertion made that Roo has undue influence on his selection and is selfishly playing himself ahead of the team.

This is a sound suggestion.

The coaching group must decide what is the better value for the team.

Perhaps a week off, try and pinch the win from the Swans and have him back for the Dogs where he seems to go well against.
Then another week off.

Do we disregard 3 years of playing at AA level (after calls for retirement in 2012-13) for 2 game playing under an obvious injury cloud?

If your answer is yes, you don't know Roo. Far out this thread annoys me.

Is it time? Here's a hypothetical for you all. If Robert Harvey hadn't retired when he did after the 2008 season but had played on in season 2009 -
1. Would the team have had the season that they had in 2009.
2. Would Harvey had made the difference in the GF.

I realise that Harvey and Roo play different positions - it's more about what value they bring to the team on the day.
I'll be interested in your opinions about this hypothetical.

Yes and Yes.

What about if Harves was on one leg and played anyway because he's a legend of the club? That's the real question. Blind Freddy can see that Roo isn't fit.
