What is the opinon on Doogs kicking for goal especially from 40+ meters. I have seen him get under the ball quiet a few times from long range.

Am I dreaming or can his kicking be suspect at times?

Nothing that can't be corrected from what I've noticed.

No, you're dreaming. ;)

I reckon Doogs looks pretty comfortable in front of goal. Certainly haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise.

nah i dont think his kicking is all that suspect, however he does get a bit edgy when he is about 40+ metres out so obviously hes not all that confident at kicking that far, but over time he should be pretty good.

He's young. Young players tend to be a bit inconsistent in front of goal. There's nothing wrong with his action, and perhaps the most promising thing is that he can comfortably kick 50 off a step, and can handle the longer set shots. At the longer distances, he does have a booming kick which tends to travel bloody high, but thats not necessarily a bad thing.
Against Melbourne, in the game where he got the most shots on goal, Doogs was 2/2 from beyond 50, and kicked 4.2 for the day- thats acceptable from a CHF.
Over the year, he managed 9.7, which is a respectable accuracy rate- he's never had a serious attack of the yips, either- the game against melbourne was the only time he's ever kicked multiple behinds.
So what's wrong with his kicking? I'd be a bit more stressed about Glen '55 out? What me, pass off?' Jakovich, and Rowan 'Clive II' Jones, two full time forwards this year who coincidentally both kicked 14.15

Dreaming

of all the tall guys in our team, I'd probably be most confident with him in front of goals from any distance.....

P.S to no1bankteller:- Dreaming :p

Clear and concise is the way to go ;)

Confidence is the key. Against Melbourne and Adelaide he kicked some early goals and after that never looked like missing.
