Too early to say that. He is 28, so should have at least 2-3 years to compete depending on the condition of his knees. He needs a favorable draw early on. For example had he played the players Federer or Murray did, he would be in the semi at least. He got the worst possible draw he could imagine this time with all these big servers.
People seem to looking over the fact Federer has had a very easy draw ths year, sure he beat Wawrinka but he is a mental midget against Fed, i find it amazing that he cant shake the idol tag from fed when he himself is a top 5 player. You have to get over that crap now and treat him like any other player, it's almost embarressing.

Bloody Kyrigos! Just typical that he chooses to play the game of his life against Nadal. Just as typical, that he couldn't reproduce it in the following match. Now Federer has a free ride to another Grand Slam Final. So reminiscent of Sampras v Phillippoussis '96.

he pretty much bossed everywhere during that period. Rosol was the turning point though. i think it is more the opposition mindset than Nadal himself. they know they can beat him now if they just go for it.

i think it shows that it is the beginning of the end; a glimpse of the future in a couple of years time on other courts. he just cant cope with grass anymore against this power hitting.

of course he is a champion so it wouldnt surprise me if this post is bumped in a years time with Nadal holding the gold trophy but he is 28 now, the same age as Fed was when he won his only French Open. Age waits for no man.
Well he didn't really. 5 Wimbledon Finals as opposed to just 1 AO and 2 USO Finals in the same time frame.

His grass court form has just done a backflip these last 3 years. Still think he's capable of getting back to the summit though.

Nadal's game style will cut his years as a dominant force short because his injuries will start to become more a factor on him. He also seems to have these tendencies to be prone to losing early rounds. He looked poor at Wimbledom in every match. Still think he has 3 French, 2 US, 1 AO in him at least.

He bossed Wimbledon from 2006-11 though. I think it's mental as much as anything. That loss against Rosol a couple of years ago must still give him nightmares.

He had plenty of battles in that time as well. 5 setters against Kendrick, Haase, Petzschner and Soderling. His vulnerability against big hitters early at Wimbeldon has always been there.

Off the top of my head, Federer also struggled against Falla, Berdych, Tsonga, Benneteau, Stakhovsky etc and he is supposed to be the best on that surface. Sampras also played quite a few close matches at Wimbledon. It's the nature of the surface. Nadal was clearly not moving well in 2012 and 2013. This year he was in good shape and actually played quite well. Nick was just too good on that day.

Too optimistic. No one has won that many slams after turning 28. Nadal would do well to win 3 more. I think his range is 2-4. Personally I feel he will win one more French and one more hard court slam. Anything over that would be a bonus.

He has a 66-1 record at the French Open, has won 9/10 times he's played it, Federer and Murray are on the decline, and you only give him one more? This alone is the epitome of pessimism.

Im sorry but to write off Nadal is beyond stupid. Rookie error kids.

I am not writing him off but age catches up with everybody. He will be 29 next year and he already has a lot of miles on his body, not to mention the different injuries he has had over the years. By 2000, Sampras had won 7 out of the past 8 Wimbledon titles. Not many would have thought that he would not win there any more. Clay requires much more physical effort than grass. It is already astonishing what Nadal has been able to achieve on it. But this year he looked tired in the final in the fourth set. His overall clay season was also very poor by his standard. I feel eventually he will start losing at French Open. It is only natural. He is not getting younger. I am a fan of Nadal, so I would love to see him winning as many slams as possible but I am being realistic here.

Nadal will finish 2015 at number one, with at least one more grand slam in his trophy cabinet. Probably 2.

Write this down.
