Guys,

Sheeds has always irritated me. Is he going to be the coach, or are going to get someone under the age of 60 who doesn't get all hard when James Hird's name gets mentioned?

Cheers

He will definately coach them in the NEAFL competition, and possibly the first year at AFL level..
And will more than likely do damn well!

The other thing to take into account is that coaching an AFL club these days is more than a one-man operation. In this day and age, clubs have numerous coaches each specialising in a different aspect of footballing minutiae.
The senior coach is the public face, who does the media interviews etc - something Sheedy does very well. But as long as he has a good coaching team behind him, and I have every confidence he will, then I don't think you have too much to worry about Snoochems.

It seems to be Port Adeaide 1997-1999 all over again!

Port Adelaide Power

An older coach with a brilliant track record, in his waning years (John Cahill) coaches the new team into the AFL, with someone to take over after a couple of years (Mark Williams).

Greater Western Sydney Giants

An older coach with a brilliant track record, in his waning years (Kevin Sheedy) coaches the new team into the AFL, with someone to take over after a couple of years (Mark Williams).
