I am starting to think that... I have only played a few games...

But already I am dominating in the hard level!

I have beaten a few teams by 40 or 50 points in 5 minute quarter matches now, and am starting this, after only about 5 or 6 matches, that maybe it is a little TOO easy

Another thought was that I changed my WHOLE side so that all I had in was Sydneys kids, many of whom had never played an AFL match in their life, or at least very few. And I beat Adelaide by some 60 points.

Thoughts?

.

It's a constant problem with sports games...

It's the Simulation VS Arcade battle.

Unfortunately for every dedicated gamer, or someone who is just good at them, there are another 50 crap gamers. Obviously they make the game easier.

If you remember AFL'99, there was a hardness modifying thing. Easy you didn't really need to do anything except push the kick button, and on hard you actually had to move around, know where team-mates where, etc. Admittadly after about an hour it was all 'unconciscous' decision making, and the game became 'solved' and too easy.

Shortly after I got AFL'99, I found a 'patch' of some description (not the official one, but not an editor either), that made the game MUCH harder. You play on hard, and the opposition is at least competitive (actually they thrash you but can't kick straight, so you end up winning if you can get plenty of shots close to goal).

Of all the simulation games I've purchased over the years, the only three I consistently play are:

GP3 (soon to be replaced by GP4 hopefully)
AFL'99 (with the modifier patch, and no I DON'T know where to get it from)
and
ICC2 (soon to be replaced if I can ever find ICC2002 on sale here)

The rest tend to only last a few weeks, before I can win them easily.

I can't find ICC 2002 anywhere, so I don't like your chances. I think the only sports game that remains a challenge besides the ICC series is Championship Manager.

Of course it could be just that I have mastered it very early, with the game type I am playing.

I play a very much running style of play, and generally I will actually have more handballs than kicks!

I think this makes it easier and is less fool proof because I can draw players and shoot off a handpass, whereas if I kick I generally go into a 50/50 marking contest, which makes it a lot harder.

Nearly lost in hard to the WCE last night though mate (Schwass kicked a goal with seconds remaining).

Main reason from that was that the computer is slow as it is with the game, and even slower for a night match, so I was like in slow motion, didnt help me!

I also found out that in Hard the computer shrugs tackles, so I think it was Matera (Phil?) Shrugged three tackles and kicked a goal
