i purchased strongs 5431 model and have been able to pick up all digital tv and radio stations available in my regional area and i can record a program on one digital channel and watch another however the scan did not pick up the analogue stations (win and gwn) thus are not available for me to record?

Unlikely that you would find a set top box nowadays that does analogue (let alone analogue and digital).
