I havent read Ruccis roast for a while. Nevermind the Crows hatred, I've long ago accepted and dismissed that. However his "pearls" today included

A quote from St Kilda "supercoach" Grant Thomas re Craig's inflexiblity. I'm surprised Thomas had time to give a quote between his 50 lawsuits and predicting what Matthew Pavlich would say under hypnosis. Looking forward to other supercoaches, Don Scott, Kevin Higgins and Robert Shaw offering their opinion soon.

What about the email from a reader quoting M Rucci as number 1 final 8 tipster from a March time capsule (method of analysis not clear)? That was truly embarrassing Rucci. I've gone from dislike for you to pity. Can your mum show us some finger painting you've done next week please?
 
or the snide little 'rumour' that Thompson is trade bait.

His roast had settled down into just a rather bizzare little waste of a page allowing Rucci to make smart arse 'jokes' about the Crows (funny how in Ports lamer years 05-06 he still found the majority of fault in a top2 sides performances in the Crows) but todays was quite spiteful.

thing is when he puts his hatred aside, he can actually write not bad stuff, just trying to be more and more 'outrageous' to get the same rise from Crows supporters I think. Sam Newman disease.

ps to those who say dont buy it, I dont anymore, just read my mates in the cubicle next to me.

I despise Rucci as much as anyone, but I did actually hear those remarks - regarding Craig's inflexibility - by Grant Thomas on Melbourne radio. Thomas basically said that whenever he coached against Craig's Crows, he knew that all he had to do was breakdown Adelaide's initial gameplan, and that would win you the game, coz' Craigy wouldn't make any meaningful changes (after the first bounce), no matter what the circumstances. So that little tidbit was REAL.

Having said that, most of what the extra-terrestrial normally writes is BS.

It seems the best way to make a name for yourself in SA is to troll the AFC. When an amateurish, talentless hack like Lewis starts taking pot shots you start to think The Advertiser has an agenda.
 
No there isn't a worse "journalist" in the world. I'm sick of the crap he writes about the club I've cancelled the Advertiser subscription. I can avoid him and it doesn't bother me whatever, but where are we supposed to go for fair and regular media coverage. I do want to read about the Crows in the paper daily but when so much of it is immature hate I just don't bother any more.
 
I heard him once rave on about how the Crows officials were big mouthed people that cant take it.

This coming from the king hypocrite in the media, that was one of the biggest pot calling the kettle black instances I have ever witnessed. If Port happen to lose on Saturday I am willing to bet he wont be using the term chokers, yet the crows choked finishing 8th.

Typical Port sheltered workshop mentality.
 
The only reason he keeps doing it is because every time he does he knows there are callers to AA and threads on here.

I swear, ignore him and he'll go away.

Craigy made a few changes after quarter time in a certain game at Telestra Dome in 2005, then there was a another game at Telestra Dome in 2006 where Craig didn't have to make any changes but it seemed the coach in the opposing box couldn't come up with any other changes to make either ;) He has coached against Craig 4 times in total for a win loss of 2 2. Great insight there Thomas

And so the Rucci snide remarks about Craigy roll on. In Thursdays' Avertiser in SA the chief football writer has one small article out of five pages.To make it a half page article thay have used a photographic representation of a Crows possible trade that takes up 1/3 of the page. Then he writes about 1/5 of a page which of course has to mention Neil Craig.
He says "But the telling note this year is how a group of Adelaide players are talking of needing a new approach to their football."
In his article he mentions 2 players Hudson and McGregor. Hudson who wants three years on his contract and McGregor who wants more game time. This is a group??

The fascinating thing I find is that Rooch could not find anything to write about the Power as the lead up to a Prelim final? And he criticises KG and Cornsey for not talking about the Power!!
 
I love his "blogs" on Adelaidenow....He only answers when a Crows person disagrees...And it is schoolyard stuff..ie go and watch your dvds from 97-98 while Port play this weekend, or word to that affect....Rather pathetic coming from the "Chief Football writer". He is rather childish, he did come up with the Chioke tag for Port, and now tries to apply it to the Crows at every chance.. I would expect the Cheif Football Writer to provide some insight and be able to debate his point a bit better than the rebuttals he gives...As a journalist he is very unprofesional.

I doubt he even understands the game. He is too concerned with our Crowd numbers and Goodwins Gambling than the real issues...

Some of his articles I dont mind reading, a few give a good perspective, but most I read ahve a chuckle at his poor attempts at humour and throw in the recycle bin....I have been told his articles make good budgie cage liners too...
 
Honestly the "ruccis roast"articles are the biggest load of childish, amateurish crap ever put to print.
personally I save that page allong with rebecca wilsons articles ,then i go outside and pick up all the dog shite and wrap it in them before discarding to the bin,because in reality thats all they are worth.
Rucci if you do read Bigfooty and i'm sure you do let me say most people on here would know more about football than you hands down....FACT! . Now rather than sitting back there thinking crows supporters are this and that, let me tell you that we are in fact normal,well adjusted tax paying football loving people with mortgages and famillies.........,unlike yourself no car licence ,no kids,no b@lls,etc
When is 5AA and The Advertiser management going to wake up to themselves and give this snivling little **** the flick, there are better credentialled more interesting people outthere to write articles and to have on a radio sports show.!!!

There's no doubt Rucci is an average journalist and the reason why most journo's over are bad is because they are so biased towards their teams.

To write good articles you need to remove your emotion. Can someone tell me who Mike Sheahan or Damian Barrett or Greg Baum barrack for? I know who they do, but you couldn't tell from their articles. For those who don't know who they are I suggest you do the unthinkable over here and start reading the Melbourne press. They are generally unbiased, write articles on all teams and get themselves above this whole Crows vs Power, Us against Victoria crap that is so prevalent over here.

South Australians, you owe it to yourselves, broaden your horizons, look beyond the backyard and start reading the Age and the Herald Sun either online or pay a few more cents than you would the Advertiser and start reading some quality journalism.

Sure, every article isn't on the Crows and the Power but as I've heard a million times since moving over here 3 years ago "IT IS A NATIONAL COMPETITION"!
 
I notice a poster on here from another Club coined the phrase..."AFC - Share the Pain".

Interesting that is should turn up on Rucci's Roast this week.

Couldnt agree more, journalism in Victoria is light years ahead of SA. Rucci wouldnt last 5 minutes in Melbourne. Mind you nor would KG, Stephen Rowe, Mcdermott. Cornes might just survive somewhere if he learnt talkback involves listeners (rather than him) giving their opinion. John Kingsmill is the only thoughtful print journalist in the state.

We produce many fine footballers in SA

The state of our sporting journalism is a real embarrassment

Thanks Jars - the only way journalism in this state will improve is if people start boycotting publications like the Advertiser and start listening to something else on radio. It broke my heart when SEN was pulled.

As you would know, engaging in argument with the likes of KG, Cornes and Rucci usually involves getting cut off or ridiculed as they know they have no competition.

I'm aware of SA football talent, there'll be a few running around for the Pies tomorrow night!

Way ahead of you Pendles. I dropped my subscription to the Tiser a while back and now mainly read The Age/Hun online for my footy fix. It's still too much Victorian focussed instead of national focussed, but it's removed the dull headache I used to get when I read the Tiser. I don't miss Rooch or Rebecca Wilson at all. Don't listen to 5AA either - IMHO they've gotten far worse the older Dumb and Dumber have become. I blame alzheimers.

I actually think the Rooch is a good journalist when he removes his Port Power glasses and just does his job.

The problem is that he's been told to sh*t stir because it sells papers, and he's not very good at it. Dale Lewis sounds like he's been given the same brief. Some journos can write opinion pieces that are thought provoking, but Rooch just comes across as a whiner or bitter when he's not dealing strictly in news.

Ia gree some of Rooch's articles are good....He is too defensive when someone does not share his point of view....

The Advertiser is terrible at reporting news in general. It is more tabloid than newspaper...All they are interested in is selling papers. I used to buy them now just go online or reasd someone elses...

I too was sad when SEN went off the air..If Eddie is buying I I hope they rebroadcast in Adelaide again..
 
rucci's latest is to have an article bagging crows for not having macca because he can captain the AA side. Of course gave him a chance to even bring up the wives rubbish again. Of course he forgot to mention in his next article about the same issue that macca did not WANT to be in the leadership group, no he was 'voted out'.
