Is there any uncontracted players left for us in the PD?? Miller was talking about getting a young kid that wil b overlooked in the draft.. which isnt saying much according to the standard of this draft....

You can have Guy Richards.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

nah - we will leave Richards for your team to take. You seem to think we are the only fools in trading but cast your eyes back to your own PSD recruiting of recent years - Richards will suit you fine and help you out with that other PSD winner - Ackland and on a 3 year contract - just like him. Yeah - that is a winner!

I'll see your Cain Ackland and raise you Trent Nobel.

not many worse than Ackland - at least when Knobel was on the ground he won in the ruck hit outs - Ackland cannot get close. I thought Pattison made your experienced ruckman look ordinary, but that is not too hard to do. Simmonds would have made him look even worse had he been fit and playing.

The joke is on Carlton as usual- Ackland is way over valued - as usual - by your supporters.

oh and I will raise you a Micky McGuane or a Mick Martyn!

Why have a pick in the PSD at all? Not for a 29yo slow midfielder with questionable kicking skills - haven't the Tigers had too many of them over the last 20 years - or a lumbering tall ruckman who acts like a rucking bag, has jump timing for centre bounces worse than my daughter's violin playing and who reads the play around the ground like I read Attic Greek (and who couldn't get a game for Collingwood who had one of the worst ruck divisions going around).

If a player they really like falls to their last pick in the ND just take him; or if not, don't use the pick, get 3 or 4 potential youngsters to train with the club for a few weeks then take the best in the PSD - like they did with Matthew White.

There is talk in the PSD we may go for a kid overlooked in the draft. Can someone explain why we wouldn't simply use a late pick on a young player like this? Surely we aren't going to be using all our picks in the draft?? What are the pro's and cons of taking a player in the draft vs PSD?

I am starting to think that kid with 'attitude' problems, Collard, may be worth a punt. At least if you fix his 'problems', you could be looking at a long term player, rather than Cousins who has 2-3 at best. I heard Collard has all the potential in the world...although we already have a few in that boat eh!!

1 major pro for mine is they get to train with you first before the PSD as this was how we got thursfield in the rookie, as we were expected to go for some other reject who has now been delisted

Final list lodgement is 30 November ie after the national draft. Leaving a spot open for the PSD instead of using a late pick in the national draft just keeps our options open to see who is available.

In reality, we have already obtained the main benefit from pick 1 in the PSD, getting Morton for pick 35 instead of pick 18. Most years there isn't much on offer for the PSD, even with pick 1. Star players slipping through doesn't happen very often.

You guys have scared off anybody from entering the PSD. A few decent names have considered it, and then the thought of going to your rabble of a club has convinced them to re-sign - a la Jarred Brennan

Not that any of you would stop to think that most years there is nothing in the PSD anyway but if the truth gets in the way of your good story then go for it - if it is possible, it just makes you look all the more moronic! What a stupid statement.

smile and wave - just smile and wave! :D
