Hi All,

Coming up in January are some more bus service changes, only Torrens Transit services are being affected this time.

I'd just be interested to know, is your service being altered? If so, what do you think?

Nothing major for me, except mopre services to the city in the morning peak, which is :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Buses suck - And I have the O-Bahn like 2 minutes from my house.

Increasing ticket prices to get people to catch Footy Express to? What dingus thought of that. It should be included as an optional extra, say 30 bucks for a season if you want it. I for one definately wont be catching it. I hope it isnt a successful trial, because frankly, ther service sucks. The one time I caught it from Golden Grove....went to TTP, down the O-bahn , down North Terrace, then through the Western suburbs. Took over 75 minutes. 75 mins on the bus, or 30 in the car, with good LOUD music. :thumbsu:

Haha, I catch the Footy Express from St Agnes Depot whenever I can, let someone else worry about dealing with the traffic, it's cheaper than petrol and a park, doesn't stop on the way there and just take your MP3 with you if you want music?

I catch the O-Bahn to work in the city as much as possible, an Express bus has me from TTP to Park Tce in around 10 minutes, stuff trying to battle North East or Lwr North East Rds in peak hour. Cheaper, faster.

If I go to the city for a day, Il drive and park at TTP, get on a bus, and be there in 15 mins. But for the footy....only drive to every 3rd game (split between mates), have free parking, within 5 mins walking at 2 places. Traffic isnt too bad with the new Port Express. :thumbsu:

Cruise straight down military road, from the Port to West Lakes BVD, then turn near the shops, and Im there at my FREE parking spot (gotta love Grandmas!)

I am considering using the free transport next year, I am over hearing people whinging about season ticket money going to fund buses, at least it is going to something useful. I would rather it being going somewhere transparent than in going into the SANFL vault to never been seen again. I am in Golden Grove as well (well technically Wynn Vale, but noone ever has any idea where that is)

If it means that it helps more families etc get to the football and it is assisting people in financial hardship to get to AAMI then I am all for it regardless of whether or not I actually use the buses, I dont mind. As I said before people are worrying about the $4 extra, but not the money that we have spent at the club which it eventually hands over to the SANFL at the end of the year.

Yeah I am always on the o-bahn to work, because I am always running late I usually have to drive to the plaza if I am on time I get the 545 bus which is only about a 5 minute walk from my house.

I used to catch the O-Bahn to work when I worked in the City until the machine ate my ticket one morning. The driver refused to give me the green slip for a replacement ticket, so I lodged a complaint at the Adelaide Metro office. Torrens Transit then had the gall to tell me that the driver did a 'function 8' and gave the ticket back to me!

I have refused to use a Torrens Transit service since.

You cant be far from where I live, my stop is the last on the Golden way before McIntyre. Do they still use those tiny little mini-vans as the 545 bus sometimes? Its a bitch changing buses at TTP if i decide to catch it from home.

I have a Go-Zone now springing up near my house (although i catch a train to the city - little bit closer and a lot quicker) which was good to hear, gives a second option with the trains.

They are also extending the bus that goes from my hosue to west lakes - it now goes straight ot the missus' place and the mates place which is ****ing bonza, because it means i dont have to catch two trains to get there.

But it is almost a mute point because my trusty motorcycle takes me into town and my car goes just about anywhere else.

Yeah sometimes they are lazy, but you should have demanded a green slip with the amount of trips left on your swallowed ticket.

I did, but there's only so many times you can ask...

I was more angered by TT's customer service guy making me out to be a liar than the drivers refusal to give me the green slip.

Luckily I live in an area serviced by Southlink now, whom I've actually found to be an excellent provider (on the very rare occasion I use public transport).

I hate to tell you this brucetiki, but a "Function 8" does nothing whatsoever. A function 2 shows the last 10 operators to use the bus, and function 3 dumps the drivers cassette onto the main frame computer, but a function 8 does nothing.

Well mine says it's changing but I can't see any difference except a complete lack of any use for timing my stop. I'll just continue to get there before it can physically travel from the last timed stop and hope the bus isn't travelling at 300 km/h (last time I missed the bus he was to travel the distance he did in 1 min).

So with my changes I still have a stupid bus that goes once every 30 min and gets into town 27 min before my train to uni goes. At a total travelling time of about 2 hours 45 min to get to uni and back people wonder why I don't bother going to a one hour lecture if it's all I have on that day.

Hey thanks for that info. It only adds to my annoyance with TT - just proves how incompetent these clowns really are.

They must have a culture of dismissing complaints as 'it's someone elses' fault'. Not long after my incident, I read something in the paper about one of their former employees (who ended up working for Southlink) being forced to do a shift over the blood-alcohol limit, and TT's response to this claim was 'Oh it's an ex-employee claiming this so it can't be true.'

Also, has anyone noticed that everytime TT has changed timetables that there's been absolute chaos on their network (chaos never seen by other providers).
