In today's The West - ISC has threatened to cut off supply to a local retailer because they are selling Fremantle guernseys below the RRP of $110.

No two ways about it - THIS IS ILLEGAL.

It is also illegal for a supplier to cut off, or threaten to cut off, supply to a reseller (wholesale or retail) because they have been discounting goods or advertising discounts below prices set by the supplier.

$80 what a steal! If I was in ISC's position I'd be kicking up a bit of a stink about it as well but as you said it's illegal to cut off supplies and there's nothing really that they can do. I can understand where the Dockers Store gets hurt by this with people choosing to buy elsewhere and less money gets boosted into the club.

Also, I can't really tell from here, but are those guernseys in the advertisement early mockups by Cory? With the Reebok and old club logo?

Great work taking the time to scan the paper and upload, was a good read. :thumbsu:

P.S. Looking forward to hearing Mr. E weigh in on this debate ;)

Illegel. ISC sound like absolute pricks.

Jim Kidds has always sold their guernseys cheaper. A company is allowed to create their own business model - and if they choose that selling a product cheaper, minimising profits per item but increasing sales, then that's their business. Not the suppliers.

Yeah, there's nothing illegal about this. Can you really stop Jim Kidd from selling them? Can't a middle man come out of this? Jim Kidd can buy the $55 jumpers from another branch, say for $65, and then sell them for $85/90. Still a profit, and still cheaper than the majority of other retailers.

I first thought this thread was about ISC being busted. It'll occur sooner or later. They'll go bankrupt. For a small company, they're just manufacturing the kits for too many teams.

Dagnabbit I want to buy an old Dockers jumper, and the only places that have them are still selling them at full price!

How can outdated merchandise from a pre-season still be sold at full price?

how many aft teams 4? 3 or so nrl teams? and most/all of the netball?

edit: i just checked their website and they do a few teams, including a couple of english rugby and league teams.

they dont have any mention about the netball though.

That's a joke if it's last years guernsey it should be cheaper since Reebok don't sponsor Fremantle anymore.Where are they selling them?

Pretty much everywhere, including eBay. It's possible some schmuck bought up big and has been selling them full price on eBay. Even the Sekem versions without sponsorship at Spectator Sports (and presumably Kmart too) are still full price ($70).

The AFL Shop rarely discounts anything, if it's previous season you might be lucky to get $10 off the price.

Might only be in rugby areas then.

Just out of interest, how do you survive supporting West Coast, or any other AFL team for that matter, in an area that is really pro-rugby?

I'm guessing that you would have been to a fair few of the Eagles games that occurred at Manuka over the last 10 years (Phillip Read screamer anyone?) but I'm interested as to how you became an Eagles fan.

More importantly, will he survive as a West Coast man when the Giants move in next year? Very hard to barrack for two teams...
