C'mon pies, undefeated season. It's doable.

We only lost 4 last year, and we should have won all 4.

It's doable but not something I'd be setting out for, especially as we don't get a bye late in the season. Everything you do has to be about getting the best preparation for finals. So if we had top spot sewn up weeks in advance and didn't take the oppertunity to man manage it'd be disappointing.

Obviously if you're good enough to manage your players workload and win every game so be it, but H&A season is just about getting pole position for finals.

Damn right Mr Ed. Logic and rational choice is for the coaching staff. Supporters, however, should demand (and receive) the improbable.

I'm with you - undefeated! Crush the enemy until their gooey remains run down our wrists like a tasteless BBQ sauce.

YIPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!:)

And may I say, it's about ****ing time. We have had the off field pre season from hell (as a league), it's time to do what our players do best, PLAY SOME ****ING FOOTBALL.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

I want us to break the season up into "brackets", bracket one is a 6 week adventure, which includes 3 massive games against Carlton, Essendon and ends with the Dogs at the MCG.

6-0 to start the season, enjoy the bye then reload and go again at "Bracket number two".:D

Yes people.... the Collingwood FC defends its Premiership this weekend :thumbsu:

LETS GET BLOODY FIRED UP :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

I prefer us to take the Aussie cricket teams approach after winning the 1999 world cup. In 2003 & 2007, they didn't go there to defend their title, they went there to win it again.

Go Pies

we also won a couple we probably should have lost.

I know which 'couple' you're referring to, and no, when you kick as inaccurately as we did, we shouldn't have lost any of them.

If we can straighten our kicking by even 15-20%, we'll be kicking ginormous scores.

If we straighten our kicking, we won't have so many shots. Are you familiar with chaos theory?

The only reason we have so many shots on goal is ebcause we keep missing and the ball can't get out. Every time we kick a goal, it gets the ball out for the opposition and gives them a chance at winning a centre clearance and kicking a score themselves.

Umpires hand delivered Round 2 vs the Demons to us, which is the first time I can ever recall that happening. Despite that, we still won by a single point and were very lucky.

I'm happy if we win the flag, don't care if we lose 1 or 7 games.

I still haven't received my membership card, should I be concerned?

Pumped for the season nonetheless.

Are you going this weekend?

If so, give the club a ring, and even if they can't get your card to you on time, they should be able to organise entry for you on Saturday.

Kicking for goal is part of a team's skillset. You can't just ignore it and then claim the close losses as wins as well.

There is certainly something in Thommo's theory, we had a helluva lot of shots as a result of teams not being able to clear from the kick in after a point. The more points we kick, the more scoring shots we'd create in that manner. More goals = less points and less shots.

of course there is. Being so inaccurate allowed us to perfect our forward press and make the opposition feel even more suffocated, because the ball could be down there for 10 minutes at a time before we finally got one through the big sticks.

Sometimes kicking a goal actually releases pressure on an opposition a bit, as they finally get a crack at a centre clearance where they don't have a 4 Pies swarming at them everytime they go near it!

There is plenty to like about keeping the opposition in a state of panic in their defensive half for most of the game.
