A slow pace at times that does pay off.

I’ve just started Chapter 2, 30 minutes in. (2hr 50 long!)

chapter 2 is seen as the weaker of the two (my opinion also), fumbles a few things. but definitely see it to complete the story and round out some things for any pre-chapter 1 stuff.

I was a big fan of IT Chapter 1... 2 wasn't the best.

Yes the last scene…the CGI in Poltergeist was better

Spoilers not required. The scene is not in any adaption of IT or ever going to be in any adaption. I plan to get to watching this prequel at some point.

Of the recent IT movies, I'm with the consensus that 1 is definitely better than 2. I think that's mostly a product of the second half - them as adults and IT not new - that takes away being able to build the psychological terror of the first part.
