Michael Barlow back for Fremantle Dockers

FREMANTLE midfielder Michael Barlow will make his return to AFL in Sunday's clash with Melbourne at the MCG. Barlow, who broke his leg in sickening fashion in Round 14 last year, has made it through two hit-outs in the WAFL and Dockers coach Mark Harvey said the 23-year-old was ready to rejoin the senior team.
"I told him yesterday to brace himself and get ready for playing at the MCG," Harvey said on Wednesday.
"All the hard work's paid off.
"It's an opportunity for his family to go to the MCG.
"He's just excited to be back in the team. Hopefully he can take off from where he left it.
"I announced it to the players this morning and the applause was deafening."

Is anyone else supposed to be flying into Melbourne on Friday morning. I'm not that confident that my flight will go ahead with this volcanic ash suspending flights. Then there is also the risk of getting there but then not be able to get flights out if the volcano erupts again which vulcanologists are saying is a fair chance.

Not a huge surprise let's face it, but very very good new. Pitty he's not going to have players like Mundy, Mora and Frodo to help out in the midfield. Would have been nice if he could come into a fuller squad to help ease himself into things.

Not a pilot, and have no plane. Maybe you can get a lift with the Submarine or Camel train Harves mentioned in the pressie if the flights are cancelled. Sounds as though things will be back to normal tommorow morning for you though.

Lucky for me the ash cloud does not affect the tram I will get on Sunday to the MCG.

I certainly don't wanna miss Barlow's long awaited come back game. I wouldn't normally expect a lot from a player coming back from a serious injury but Barlow can't be judged like any other player. He will do well, I just wish him and Mundy and Fyfe were in the midfield together all at once.

Its official, the airports/airlines have given the all clear. I'm flying on the midnight horror Friday and I've got my daughters flying up from Launceston Saturday afternoon. Lucky everything cleared in time because the accommodation I booked had a no cancellation policy. I'll worry about getting back when the time comes.
