Mate this guy has ability but he was cruising in the first half - he has not established himself yet - interestingly enough he has more pace than I thought if the last quarter is anything to go by - this player is coasting along - we need him to throw himself in and put his hand up now - not good enough from a player we all know is going to be good - i am sick of our great club being shafted by these arrogant players who have potential but refuse to consistently go in hard - this guy was only motivated by the bench tonight!

i assure you bluehouse wallace is watching the blokes who are putting their hand up and those that aren't,as far as i'm concerned schultz should count himself
lucky he's still a tiger after losing a major sponsor and he has 12 weeks to impress otherwise great potential or not he might be shown the door the ball is in his court.

This is his last year he can use as an excuse as a kid. If he rocks up with the same lackadaisacal approach next year then he has to be delisted.

Yep, looked like he was lacking any sort of intensity out there, he's going to have to lift, obviously has ability, but that's not enough.

Remember, the guy came back from a serious injury of his own and I presume it would be hard to get back into the swing of things at an AFL level. The tempo would be so much different compaired to VFL.

Give him a few weeks yet.

He dropped a chest mark in the square in the 1st qtr that cost us a goal. Then he dropped another chest mark later in the game on the wing.

This guy has cost us a major sponsor and he's playing with no intensity, just strolling along, like he doesn't give a fat rats toss, when Melbourne were going real hard at us all night.

When is he going to get it in his thick head that he owes us a lot & better start f*#kin' performing otherwise his a@# will be gone at the end of the year and all he'll be remembered for was that stupid drink-driving incident and the lost sponsorhip.

there,s a few players ahead of shultz who will be pretty nervous after last night. What is clear of these players is they play well against any side who is regarded as weaker opposition but up against better opposition they are found out like a sore thumb.

Under the previous coach Schultz was never given any real role (other than accumulating splinters on the bench). Wallace had a role earmarked for him but because of injury it hasn't eventuated. He doesn't have the footy smarts just yet to play in a key forward role, so he needs to be put up back where he can learn the game and contribute at the same time. His first game back was against Brisbane and it would have been maybe too big an ask to put him on Brown, but eventually we need to get him into one of the three big man jobs in the backline. But if Hall and Stafford come back next week, Schultz will be the likely one to give way for them.

The mark he dropped in the square, I think he was in two minds whether to mark it or let in go and in the end did neither. His decision making in those type of situations is suspect, but something that can improve with experience.

He almost put Aaron Davey 4ft into the turf with what would have been a 100% fair bump, Davey very lucky to get out of it
Was moving extremely quick and it's still only his 2nd game back, you guys can't help but jump the gun and go for the throat
Whats the matter? Hasn't been enough players to dig your claws into lately?

still to find any touch after playing prob 3rd game of footy in 2005....Im inclined to rest richo if it is true that knee is bothering him and use Shulz at FF......a combination of rich's troublesome knee and lack of staff has pricked our forward line...needs some work during the week to come up with a new mix

I dont think it would hurt if he was left in the backline for the rest of the season.I just thought he looked a bit more comfortable there late in the game. Hall will be back though.

watching schulz at the game on friday, he really looked hopeless.

His decision making was awful, his disposal average, his effort really poor.

At one stage he was in defense, walking, hands on hips down to full back, alone. Melbourne's midfield was pumping the ball forward to a very open forward line, Newman and Kellaway were going up to spoil three tall dees.

Schulz was 5 meters away, and not only didn't help out to make it three on three, not only didn't help out given he was the tallest availble player there, BUT HE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE THE CONTEST WAS HAPPENING!

5 meters away, he was totally unaware where the ball was on the field. The first he knew of it was the ball sailing over his shoulder towards the Melbourne goals.

I like to support our guys, but this kid either doesn't have what it takes, or has a bloody long way to go.

Missed a lot of footy and looks sadly out of touch .

Needs to be given more time to run himself into fitness instead of us all sinking the boots into him.

Says more about Morrison and his plight for mine more than anything , that Schultz is getting a game ahead of him when he is obviously underdone .

J Schulz is so OVERRATED he is a one game wonder . Just because he played one good game everone thinks he is a great player but he is a dud :D

If a player can have such a great game that they kick 6 goals against the best defender in the league, then they have the potential to be a great player
He's not a dud, he just needs to find consistency and full fitness. His desire is the only thing that will determine if he makes it, as he has the skill there if he wants to use it
