Sorry if this problem has already been posted somewhere, but I can't be bothered going through old threads.

Anyway, for some reason, last week when I opened Itunes, half of my library disappeared, including all my playlists.

All my music is still on my hard drive (but not all in the one folder), so rather than having to go through it all again and importing it, is there an easy way to get it all back to my library instead of doing it manually? It will be time consuming to go through it all manually, so it would be great if Itunes has a function like on Media Player where you can scan all the media on your hard drive and automatically import it that way.

And if the answer is really obvious, please don't point out my stupidity.

Thanks in advance.

Not answering your question, but it is probably better to check the option that allows iTunes to make copies in one folder and let it organise it for you...then you don't have to search like this if/when they go missing.

Yeah, I tried that, but it didn't even do that properly.

Think I'll just have to uninstall it and then reinstall it, I remember there was an option to scan all media when you first start it.

Yeah it will scan your music folders I think.

To get it to copy them all into the iTunes folder, you would probably have to delete and re-add them back into your library...
