You'll always have a friend ready to dis iTunes - it's bloated, buggy, blah blah blah.

But it organises your stuff. It gets stuff onto your iPod or iPhone. Fine, whatever.

This latest version has got to be the biggest ****-up in the history of this software.

Just as an example: podcasts.

You can no longer sort them in alphabetical order. They appear to be sorted in some random order, and you need to manually move each podcast to order it any other way.

I mean... what the actual ****?

Anyone got any suggestions for podcast and music programs and apps?

chief, i always just assumed you would be a linux guy. maybe single chiefs like windows, but we don't know and frankly it's a market we could do without.

itunes, lol. if you're unhappy with the ecosystem, it's time to change.

People with an iOS device that know what they're doing can choose to what degree they want to embed themselves in the Apple/iCloud ecosystem. I have an iPhone 5 and am more reliant on the Google and Dropbox ecosystems than I am on Apple's.

Pocketcasts is great, and a top Aussie company too, home grown inventions and everything, they just needs to promote theyselves more instead of flying under the radar so much.

Soundcloud is good if your podcasts are short - but bear in mind listeners can only D/L 120MB without then having to pay $ to store the poddie.

I know this will be unpopoular, but in the last six months I do find good ol' youtube to be the best and most reliable platform for podcasts that are independent. Hopefully some of the Aussie ISPs come up with a better deal for user website hosting.

If you are lucky enough to be part of a corporate that is affiliated with a major ISP or telephony company there are many more options - eg iinet's freezone streams and podcasts for the ABL, AHL, basketball and other sports. Or CNN's adoption of bleacher report.

Surely BF has enough mass following and quality content (even allowing for Bay13) that we can get affiliated with one of the major ISPs? Or is being indie still too cool for school (sorry I'se an old fogie that likes to pay bills and get stuff for free rather than scrimp by on dodgy "indeie" low rent deals...)??

We use AWS and YouTube to serve our podcasts. And my post is talking about the end user software, not the publisher.
