im coming off a partially torn tendon in each shoulder and i was listening to port v blues over in adelaide early on in the year coz i dont have foxtel..and when the final siren went i punched the air and it felt like i finished the job on the already frail tendon..was in a world of pain..but we won so oh well..

didnt learn my lesson though..did the same thing again watching the womens water polo when we scored..

Yeah, Paul Kelly (the singer not the footballer) said it well.

So what are the dumb things you have done after a Carlton loss?

Doesn't matter if it's watching live, or on TV, or radio, whatever.
What have you done in frustration or despair?

I've been a complete idiot.
I've damaged my car, I've broken hair brushes, I've smashed $300 sunglasses. And that's just the beginning.

So, have you smashed radios, smashed TV screens, kicked the cat?

What have you done?

Fess up!!!

I Was Hoping You'd Say That your were just Careless, otherwise Keep It To Yourself - you need to find some Brand New Ways

Don't Explain - I Won't Be Your Dog Anymore :D

watching us play West Coast from Subi 2 or 3 years ago, when we were smashing them for 3 qtrs. Then the inevitable come back.... they hit the lead with about a minute to go ..... I hit the couch that I'm crouching behind at the time (I couldn't sit anymore, I just hid behind the couch with just my eyes peeping over) and broke the knuckle of the middle finger of my right hand. 7 weeks in plaster gave me some perspective after that one.

Not really sure why but of all our close losses and heartbreak over the past 7 years, that one hurt more than most - figuratively and literally!

Generally I just need 10 minutes to get over a loss and I return to normal. As has been mentioned by others, and good natured consoling can be met with abuse during that time.

Don't generally lose the plot when we're under (although I might have let loose on my brother/s a time or five). I end up feeling depressed after a loss, and the next few days don't seem as bright.

If it's a close loss, I tend to get a severe case of the "what ifs?" Can spend an hour plus lying there in bed running through scenarios in my head and how they might have affected the game. Conversely, if it's a good win I'll likely be lying there going through the game again in my head, thinking about individual performances.

The worse time to play out a loss is Friday night. The whole weekend to do nothing but listen to commentators talking about why you lost, how shit you are etc. And other teams playing out of their skins. Don't read papers till Thursday/Friday after a loss.

funny you should mention this game, after the great comeback my old man punched the air as the song was blasting and clocked me square on the nose. thought hed broken it for a bit too. as for me, im more the type to sulk and plot but rarely act on my emotions after a loss. however one saturday night when the blues werent playing at half time that ralph guy who looks like a thunderbird ran a story on the great CJ. knowing my obsession with JC they decided to make alot of noise so i couldnt hear him being interviewed. at this point i should add that a fair quantity of vodka had been consumed that night. well its fair to say i was pissed (in every sense of the word) so i went and smacked each of my mates in the gut, knocking them back onto my couch and winding them both. now im not a big guy and have gymophobia but its fair to say that the adrenaline was pumping through the viens and they felt it.

if thats not dedication i dont know what is.

Rofl. I just got a visual of that. Almost as funny as MS and his matchbox car.:D
Although at the time I am sure you didn't see the funny side of it.

I once became embroiled in a 'shoving match' with Melbourne's Clint Bartram after a game at MCG.

I also once nearly had a brawl with TV's Larry Emdur LOL ... I get cut after close losses.

You guys must be soft. I have done the worst things.

From the times I've been watching the game live I've smashed sunglasses into the ground until they broke.
I've smashed hairbrushes against the wall in the ladies toilet.
I've damaged my car by throwing the keys at it.

Not live I've thrown objects at the TV. I've thrown radios onto the floor.
I've sworn and cursed and told friends to **** off.

Perhaps I am just a bitch!
