I've been a supporter of the club for 10 years, I've been a member for seven.

I've sat through the footballing equivalent of the keystone cops throughout the Neesham years, I've smiled and laughed it off.

I've sat through every home game of 2001, trying to rationalise that it's only a game and it's better to smile and laugh it off than sit in the pub every second saturday feeling emotionally wrecked.

I've sat at the final in 03, watched us throw our best season away. But I smiled at the end, I clapped the lads off, we could only go up couldn't we?

I've sat in the pouring rain, watching Peter Vardy end our season within the space of four minutes.

I've sat through the most insipid losses to Collingwood, to Hawthorn, to the Kangaroos, to Melbourne, to West Coast, to Richmond and to countless other sides, games we should have won, and I've smiled.

I've just sat through possibly the worst two hours I've experienced since I've followed this side, and fair dinkum, I've nearly had enough.

I was less disappointed tonight than after round 1. Showed more heart than against the Hawks. To me, tonight demonstrated the gap between top 4 and middle of the road.

I would like to see Sandi and the midfielders get their act together though when it comes to centre bounces. Maybe he should go for a defensive tap, that's where they all seemed to be.

How good was Mcpharlins Mark. One of the toughest marks i have seen.
He came back on and got crunched again in a marking contest.
Very gutsy stuff by luke. No one has mentioned it.

I did in the votes thread. It was bloody awesome. Right in front of me. He just kept running with his eye on the ball, knowing there was traffic behind him, and a clash was inevitable. And he held it! It didn't even spill!! i was hoping that would be the catalyst for 10 minutes of run and stun footy that would win us the game. sadly, it was not to be...

That was the worst 2 hours you've experienced? I don't think you've been to enough games..... it might have been a pathetic, gutless, half arsed, brainless display but compared to what we usually get dished up, that's about average.

Unless there is a radical change, we're all going to feel a lot worse after the next few weeks.

This is up with the Hawks and Roos losses in the past couple of years IMO.

Big call. Hawthorn last year was 4 quarters of just plain sh*thouse footy. Much worse.

Roos a couple of years ago was just a quarter of footballers acting like netballers. Probably comparable to tonight.

For sheer frustration, IMO nothing beats the game against Melbourne 2 years ago where we had a 2 goal lead at 3/4 time, and we were outscored something like 42-0 in the last quarter. In torrential rain. The most gutless display i've ever seen, even Manangatang thirds could have prevented conceding that much in those conditions. I've never wanted to go home and beat the bejesus out of the punching bag as much as I did then.

Maybe i've just accepted that while we've got a clown as coach, we'll continue to be served up freakshows like tonight. So it doesn't ********** me off quite as much.

I don't think anyone was expecting Top 4...but we are capable of it. That was a match where we reverted back to old patterns, showed grit but know punch. We let ourselves be controlled. I've pretty much had enough of seeing what we're capable of, playing some blinding footy that gets our hopes up only to see them crushed the very next week.

A good sign was Polak and Grover, but the rest were awful. The skills were appauling. A week is a long time in football.

I don't know what I despise more now: Adelaide's style of playing or all these severeley optimistic Freo supporters who still say everything's alright (or that person who supposedly spat on Connolly but I severeley doubt that's even true). For gods sake look at what is actually happening. It's 2004/2005 all over again.

For sure, this was the most cringe worthy game of all time from Freo.
Lets face facts, the cattle make the coach, not the other way around. All us Freo fans have the habit of laying everything at the coaches feet, how many coaches have bit the dust because this team has never been capable of following orders consistentaly?
How many times have we heard players tell us that they didn't follow the game plan. Freo has one star player, it has several fluky "on the day" players who might come to play and might not, the rest of the squad are very ordinary to below par. Players cannot think on their feet, they have no concept of following a basic game plan.
I am no fan of CC but until the players stop ignoring team instructions and get themselves a collective heart we will keep blaming coaches.
I believe that we need to stop making the coach an excuse for the p*** poor attitude of the overpaid players.

I think you're missing the point.

The buck stops with the coach. If the coach's message isn't getting through to the players, thats the Coach's fault. If the players don't follow the gameplan, then its the coach's fault for not making an example of them and banishing them to the WAFL.

I see 2 problems with your club:

1. Each year in pre-season we here the same story from the club, "We're going to be better, we're going to make the finals". I would think its time to shut up and let the on-field performances speak for itself.

2. The players you have stock-piled over 13 years, as a result of finishing so low on the ladder each year, is frightening. I simply cannot comprehend how you're not winning more games.


Finally, you all need a reality check. You've just played a Top 4 team (admittedly with many missing), and its only Round 4.
