Jack Gunston

Having had a son who played his junior footy with Jack Gunston at Beaumaris, can somebody tell me how he's going?

Playing with the Central's reserve side at the moment, and kicked 3.4 in round 1, while they had the bye last week. Had a mate play with him in the reserves, and said he could've kicked atleast 6 if his kicking boots were on in the first half. Hits the ball hard and looks a real player by what my mate was describing to me, even if he is still a skinny fella. Also played a couple of NAB challenge games and didn't look too out of depth, should be a solid player for us going foward.

He is going well so far. He kicked 3 goals in the reserves last week and was judged best player for Centrals in that game.

What was Gunston like in his junior days?

He was very clever through the under 10s, 11s and 12s, but he didn't grow much, so settled into a role as a small forward in what was a pretty strong junior team.

He then started to grow and went to Haileybury College where he played some good footy, I think as a centre half-forward. Played one real blinder, either with Haileybury or the Sandy Dragons, and that got the attention of the recruiters.
