Channel 7 have reported tonight that Brisbane have offered Jack Lonie a 3 year deal. Has not been offered a contract at St Kilda yet. What is his value?

Of you're not a free agent or a top player and remain uncontacted at this stage of the year you're probably looking at no more than a 5th or a very late 4th round pick at best

I'd definitely trade our 3rd rounder for him without hesitation. He is a player who is ready to explode, would actually consider trading our 2nd for him but that may be a bit too much.

Hes a smart player, gives 100% effort each week and and knows how to get plenty of shots on goals... that's about it.

He's physically weak, tries to do too much, poor shot on goal, limited to one position at AFL level, stages for free kicks.

He was finally beginning to play some decent footy in his last few games which we havent seen since his debut season so I thought he may have been offered a contract. Not too concerned either way. If we got Brisbanes pick in the high 50s, that would be fair. Anything extra is a major bonus.

Most of our supporters believe that he would be a slight upgrade on Barrett. TBH I'm not really fussed either way if we get him or not. It would he 'nice'.

Which is bizarre because Kent and Garlett aren't regular best 22 players and both are comfortably better than Lonie.

Yep he only kicks goals and we all that's not important in the modern game.

I hope he stays with the Saints, he's 11th in the "Non Key Forward" average goals kicked per game stat, he's on 40 games, and i figure even the smallest players bulk up a bit between 20 and 30 years of age.
