WA boy who looked like he had a few tricks when he debuted in 2008.

Injury has hurt him since and didn't play a game the last two seasons.

A possible FP option?

Hasn't shown enough for a spot on the main list. Rookie list at best. Needs to go back to Subiaco and find some form.

He was drafted as a high half forward/wingman type.

Adelaide fans said they trialed him as a small crumbing forward but didn't show much.

I liked him at U18s as well, but he looked a shadow of the player he to be in the SANFL games I've seen him this year (played off half back - looked a bit too top heavy - a lot slower, less agile and less dynamic).

I don't think you should ever write any player that's rejected from another club off.

There are a number of reasons why they may not have been able to reach their potential at another club (been played out of position, managed/coached poorly, not given enough opportunity, personal issues, injuries etc.)

All of the below players have been delisted by AFL clubs at some point in their career:

Peter Bell - 2 AA, 4 B&F (3 R/U B&F), 2 Premierships
Craig Bolton - 2 AA, 3 top 5 B&F finishes (5 top 10 B&F finishes), 1 Premiership
Shane Tuck - 3 top 3 B&F finishes
Andrew Carrazzo - 1 B&F (3 top 10 B&F finishes)
Shane Wakelin - 3 top 10 B&F finishes
Martin Pike - 2 top 10 B&F finishes, 3 Premierships
Jason Porplyzia - 1 R/U B&F (2 top 10 B&F finishes)
David Rodan - 3 top 10 B&F finishes
Daniel Pratt - 3 top 10 B&F finishes
Tom Logan - 1 top 10 B&F finish
Daryl Wakelin - 1 top 10 B&F finish
Steven Gilham - 1 Premiership

This lends itself nicely to the point I made in the 2007 Draft Performance thread about the strength of that draft.

This guy was pick #30 and already finds himself on the scrapheap. The following year, guys like Beams and Hannebury went around that mark.

Wouldn't mind a stab in the rookie draft, without knowing too much about the guy. Apparently he's struggled with injury?

Maybe he's worth a rookie list spot. Apparently didn't settle into SA very well and he could potentially be the best option late in the rookie draft.

For those interested:

Wiseby had him ranked 20th in his draft year.

Snoopdog said this in his fantasy draft:
# 40 Fremantle –Jarhan Jackky (Subiaco / 180cm / 71kg)

Very exciting youngster who plays HF and Fwd pocket. Can take stints through the middle but the motor is not quite there yet. Very creative around the fwd line and finds space pretty well. Has a terrific turn of pace and uses the pill really well. Appears to have a big leap as well which helps in contested 1:1 marking situations.

Quigley:

40. Fremantle - Jarrahan Jacky – DOB 5/4/89 Ht 180 Wt 71

Jacky is a very exciting forward prospect who might well spend significant time in the midfield as he develops. With Farmer on a knife’s edge and not the long term answer as a small forward the Dockers might be looking for a replacement and Jacky would be a good choice at this pick.

At the moment Jacky is a dangerous half forward but with a year or two under his belt he has the potential to move into the midfield. He has very good speed (9th in Camp at the 20 metre sprint with a time of 2.93) and uses it well to create separation in the forward line and also on his forays into the middle. He is a player that likes to take on a man and he can be very exciting to watch. He has excellent athleticism, is a very balanced mover and he has great recovery speed. He has soft hands and is good mark for a small man. Kicking wise he gets pretty good distance and is usually an accurate kick. I have noticed though that his kicking style is a bit variable and this is something that he needs to work on. He is very dangerous around goal and has the talent that will have teams paying attention. With his pace Jacky might also be moulded into a chase down type forward. These types of players are very much in vogue at the moment and can only help his chances of getting picked up. It is worth noting that Jacky has only been playing football for a few years and is still very new to the game.

TOA in the official BF mock draft:
#67 - Jahhran Jacky - Small/Medium Midfielder - *** - 178cms, **kgs

Jacky is a classy indigenous small who has potential to play forward, back or through the middle. He posses all the characteristics that make indigenous players a special part of our game. Jarrhan oozes flair and daring with the pace to match (2.93 for 20m), he’s also an accurate kick, has soft hands, footy smarts and natural goal sense. Just as exciting are the fact he has (1) high scope for improvement because he is relatively knew to competitive footy having come down from Broome 5yrs ago (although he has played in Subi develop squads since 15). And (2) he isn’t afraid to win the ball in the contest (in the air or on the ground) or use his pace to harass and chase other players. These characteristics indicate he has a future in the AFL playing off half back (ala Johncock?) or through the middle (although he is still learning that part of the game), as well as the role up forward that suits a player of his ilk. Jacky should end up a tidy option at AFL level with natural improvement combined with the assistance that the AFL coaching will provide, re kicking consistency, contributing for extended periods in games (should come with AFL conditioning) and not trying to do too much at once.

Matt Burgan:

40 – FREMANTLE – JARRHAN JACKY
Subiaco, WA, Small forward/midfielder, April 5 1989, 178.4cm, 74.5kg
Jacky could genuinely be an early second round selection, although some recruiters believe he could be a late pick. He is a little difficult to place, although it would not surprise if he landed at Essendon (No.23), Fremantle (No.24) or Sydney (No.26). And don't rule out Collingwood opening its draft with Jacky at No.31. Fremantle may also snap up ex-Don Kepler Bradley at this point, although it may opt to select him with one of its late picks as they appears to be the club keenest for his services.
Bio: Extremely agile and quick player with smartness around goals. Impressive for WA at NAB AFL U18 Championships this year.

Weaver:

37. Kangaroos - Jarrhan Jacky

Clubs have been willing to take the specialist FP goalsneaks earlier and earlier. Guys with some pace, class and goalkicking smarts are valued because we are seeing so much more zones and flooding which are tougher to break down. Jacky is also a little taller than some of the typical pockets at 180cm. Unlike plenty of small forwards he is prepared to use his pace defensively and apply pressure to opposition forwards. That is crucial to stop all those back-pocket playmakers in the league.

 havnt seen such positive vibes towards Jacky in years :p

as I understand it, he has struggled to impress at sanfl reserves level, which is only a step up from amateur/country leagues.

I remember him playing a few games for us a couple years ago, was way out of his depth but it was his first year. ALWAYS falls over, lacks penetration in his kick and wasn't at all accurate around goal.

I think he has been homesick as of late
