Spoke with him at meet and greet today. He is very happy to be here. GWS were happy to have him stay on but he wanted to go elsewhere for greater opportunity. Was liking Brisbane very much. It is so much cheaper to live here than Sydney and so much easier and quicker to get around.

seems like a solid player, who does his game style resemble the most

Jake Barrett has been nominated for the AFL's Goal of the Year following a sublime left-foot checkside against Fremantle on Saturday night.

Barrett is up against Joe Daniher and Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti for this week's best goal.

Meanwhile, Lions vice-captain Tom Rockliff spent extended periods on the bench in the second half. It is unclear whether that was due to a groin problem.
