Rumour on TC is that Carlisle is 1 of 4-5 kids on Carltons radar for pick 12. He or A. Black are my preference for a KPP after Butcher.

And all could be gone by our selection.

]Obviously you don't rate Carlisle TG? I'm a bit suspect, there is something that scares me off I don't really know what it is.
I was just using BigFooty speak 101 for the post-season where everyone becomes draft experts. ;) :o

Best available might be another midfielder or flanker with pace.

Along with Tapscott, one of Melksham, Sheppard and Lucas should be available. :thumbsu:

I expect Essendon to plump for one of them and Melbourne to take the best tall.

If the mids are even, I'd go for the pace of Melksham, Sheppard and Lucas ahead of Tapscott.

Carlton lacks line breakers, skill and legspeed.

It's probably unfounded and scepticism, but there's something about a player with Tapscott's body type and manchild size that worries me. LT looks a bit like Stevens who had high skinfolds and a damaging kick, but lacked pace and run the other way.

Tapscott game might have hurt like Rich going one way, yet the Dogs exploited Rich's lack of pace and run going the other way in that final. You could see Rich jogging along in the background after the Dogs burned off him and moved the ball on quickly to run it down the ground.

If O'keeffe is a thumping kick like Tapscott and the clubs expects him to have a breakout year, a Lucas, Melksham or Sheppard might help us with the spread.

Need could come into if the mids are even.

Lucas sounds like a Wayne Hughes special after his draft camp results added something to his football.

See Shaun Grigg.

Sheppard could be an upgrade on Armfield.

I wouldn't be shocked to see either of these three players in Navy Blue next year. :)

Why reach for a KPP and need if their football isn't as good?

I would love Carlton to draft two midfielders and flankers just to see the reaction on Big Footy.

It would be great to finally have a quick team that can run and hurt the opposition on the rebound like Essendon and the Dogs. Our midfield isn't that great out in the open when it's a fast running game and a side has a run on.

That's one area our midfield needs to improve.

Especially after we added an inside midfielder in the trade period.

Another Kade Simpson would be great.

*end of rant*

:rumour has it that wayne hughes will take " best available " with pick 12, and that could be another mid/flanker. i hope not, because he could not pick his toenails ( apart from the number ones that fell in our lap ). the blues need a kid who can kick goals for us for 10 years to replace fev, not more bloody flankers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! henderson will be ok eventually, but carlton needs another key pos dude to help out in my opinion.carlton has needed height at both ends of the ground for ages now, and with fev gone the team cannot rely on guys who cannot kick -see setanta and cloke. so any kp kid who has some pace and can kick would be valuable to us. no point having all these mids if there is nobody to take a grab up forward !!! in my opinion talia, carlisle, black, or maybe panos might be around at pick 12, so try for them !! apparently carlton loves tapscott, according to the goss on other sites - anyway that is just my hopes.;)

Gee mate, Mitch Robinson, Mark Austin, Dennis Armfield, Steven Browne, Shaun Hampson all look to have been steals. Jeff Garlett, Sam Jacobs, Aaron Joseph off the rookie list, pretty well spotted I'd say.

Has now been vindicated in picking Jordan Russell and I have no doubt in the future that he will be with the Yarran selection.

I look forward to seeing who else he can bring into the team.

most of those guys are still to prove themselves yet, and there has not been a key forward amongst them either. remember that great late pick he took RASSO ???????????? too many flankers, and not enough key position dudes for too long now !!! when fev did`nt fire there was`nt anyone else to take a mark down there. another guy on a site said that if w.h. takes another midfielder he will neck himself !!! i agree !!! the best key he chose was kennedy who we had to give to w.c., but he was pick 4 if i remember, so the jury is still out for me on w. h.

Because that's the type of guy you are?

With our first pick, maybe, but after that it's overkill if there are talls left worth taking. I hope you're not overlooking football's constant evolution.

Once we get one thing sorted out something else invariably crops up. We can have the mids and speedsters sorted out only to find the opposition have done the same but with the quality talls to top it all off. What we 'need' is match-winners on every line if you ask me.

You are right IMO but your less than relaxed way you communicate will probably mean that you won't be taken seriously.

It's my concern, too. Too many flankers and not enough 'inside' players including talls. We seem to have a fixation with them and despite the line that keeps getting bandied about, they are not all super athletic either.

I hope Carlton pick up Jake with their pick 12,
I saw him play in the grand final and although he didnt set the world on fire they're was some good signs. He is about the right height and can play up forward and down back.
I'm no where near an expert on the draft at all, but I really think he could be a great pick up for the Navy Blues.
