I know he has had a ordinary year (due to injury I am told) but from what I have seen, this kid is big, still young (only 20) and has great hands! Has the recent Fevola dramas given him another chance?

They played him in the backline for the last few VFL rounds and apparently really liked him there

His career was obviously on the line and I think he might have saved it for at least another year with hope to develop him into a defender

Was shown up in the VFL GF by second-rate forwards like Edwards and Jones. No chance.

Edwards has absolutely no idea on how to play defencive and stay with an opponent. As a forward couldn't get a kick. Has all the physical attributes and skill though to be good. So maybe he'll do a Jordan Russell and make it if we have patients?...

Hartlett's too slow to be a defender. Can't take a mark as a forward. Lacks endurance and the ability to run hard all day and is injury prone, should go.

He's still young enough to rookie. That'd be my guess, that with our lack of options in attack he'll be rookied just in case he turns the corner.

It didn't work for Pfeiffer but fingers crossed. Hell, Hartlett had 5 years - Jake's only had 3?

Seriously though, we had big hopes for Jake and he's been nothing but a spud - consistantly beaten by hacks in the VFL. You can have him for nix!

hahaha Na i just reckon he is big, has good skills, and players with those 2 attributes dont grow on trees. He has had some injuries, and I reckon sometimes these bigger guys take a little longer, esspecially when injuries are a factor.He's still only 20 I think (was drafted bottom age I'm pretty sure) so really, I'd be happy to have him at Geelong, with a year developing...

There is a lot of tall guy that go in the AFL draft every year but basically most are crap. I do reckon we should overhaul our rookie list and just find 5 or 6 talls to work with and keep Gartlett,Stanton and Jacobs retained as rookies.The others should get the flick,Joseph will get promoted.

With the recent dramas, i hope Edwards gets one more year to prove himself, as for Hartlett cant get rid of him quick enough, major disapointment in every way, send him to Port for a 500th round pick.

Prior to the Fev thing I was sure both Edwards and Hartlett would be shown the door.

I suspect we may now keep whichever of the two we think could do a job down forward (if Fev is traded.....which I don't think will happen).

I suspect that might be Jake..........Harts did another Hammy in the GF last week...........sad after he actually played a full season..........gone for good IMO.

Whichever it is lets hope they get a chance and become the next "jason Heatley".

If Fev stays both are gone though.
