He has a touch of class. That's why he is still on the list, though Hine getting greedy in the draft might put his position at risk.
 
We still passed one pick in the ND so obviously we still have one selection left on our main list let alone rookie list. Unless we're using that to just take an extra rookie and upgrade an extra rookie.

Hine said Hudson would be elevated to become the 40th senior player on the list.. just looking for one rookie now

If it's Kelly and we don't delist anyone else (last list lodgement Monday) it will happen on Monday and we won't even be going to the rookie draft on Wednesday
 
Be interesting to see if we make changes to the list on Monday.

Hine has made a comment that they thought going in they would use only 6 & 10. The fact we had 65 available must have been for a slider but we might not have thought there was 2. Langdon being available along with Scharenberg will make it tough, or even tougher, for Clarke or Yagmoor to get a look in. Marsh now on the list puts him ahead of Gault.

If we were ruthless they would be the three you'd be looking at in my opinion. I'd be looking to get a small forward crumber and maybe Conlon as well.

I suspect the talk linking us to Conlon was about for a reason and we might have had 65 there for him before both Langdon and marsh slid.

I take your point drafted hawk that they might have had Gault lined up for a rookie spot and told him so. I just wonder if they were looking at a Gault/Conlon combo and now they have a shot at a Marsh/Conlon combo they may have a change of heart.

Gault isn't a rookie yet.. things changed dramatically at the national draft, we were only going to use 2 picks and ended up using 4 o_O
 
Kelly must be in Hine's thinking, otherwise the club wouldn't have nominated him. Though picking up Langdon and Scharenberg might have reduced his value to the club.

Does Kelly play off the HBF? I haven't seen much of him at all but I was under the impression he was more of an inside mid?

I reckon that in the new age of Free Agency, which I think will also result in more trading, clubs need to operate openly and with integrity. Otherwise employees will want out. They can't go around promising things and then not delivering. If they've made promises they need to honour them.

Left-footed medium defender who provides excellent rebound for his team and can match up on both taller and smaller opponents. Competes well in the air and showed his promise in 10 games with Oakleigh Chargers, averaging 19.4 disposals. Also played at VFL level with Collingwood and was among the teams best against Werribee.

We didn't nominate him for the ND.

We suggested we might take him in the rookie draft as a FS, but we will find out today whether we have or not.

Stay on board, Drafted Hawk, your posts on Broomy are most welcome. He is right at the top of my list in terms of anticipating his debut. And it's a very crowded list.
 
Did we actually formally nominate him as a father-son selection? Am assuming not, so that would mean any side could grab him in the rookie draft, were they so inclined, i.e we don't have first dibs, right?

That's what I meant. We had to nominate to have the right to take him in the rookie draft. Do we have to formally nominate him today.

So, to be clear, we haven't yet nominated him. If we want him as an automatic inclusion on our list, we can select him today. If not, then we can obviously still pick him if we think he is better than the alternative.

But we have not at this point committed to him, despite the postings of some other posters in a previous thread.

So does that mean we have lost the exclusive right to list him as a rookie?
 
Yeah I think anyone can grab him in the rookie draft now.. we probably want to see if Conlon Cain or the like fall our way.. Battersby Templeton and Charlie Cameron sound great too

Not Really as Stewart could be a Star where Kelly was more brining in a Son from the 1990 Premiership Team. Also Played VFL for us late in the season
