But as part of their penalty for the supplements scandal, the Bombers were wiped of all father-son access picks across the 2013/2014 drafts.
It means if they want to draft Long, 18, they will need to do it via the national or rookie drafts and hope rival clubs don't pick the talented, lightly-framed prospect.

The answer this board has been waiting for for some time. So do we still look to draft him with our first pick, or should we just go for best available? I haven't really seen any footage of him.

It isn't tampering not to nominate. The AFL aren't allowed to make life decisions for people no matter how much they feel entitled to.

We've been through this.. and anyway.. the AFL can not force a guy to nominate for the draft.. ever.

Who the hells knows? Heck the kid might want a gap year whether we want him to nominate or not... or he might want to go home and play for a year before starting his career... or he might want to spend some time with his community..

Disappointing situation and I'm not sure why ALL our F/S would be taken off the table.. surely just round 1 and 2.. ie if someone 'beats' our bid.. but oh well.. what is done is done..

Well seeing as Little had not much idea about how Hirdy played his football, when the issue of stripping f/s picks was being discussed, he may well have commented something like 'Jake who?'...

Good idea, & all jokes aside, the club basically passed on Cyril & look how thats turned out, so if there is any chance Jake is the real deal, he needs to get to this club. Dont make that same mistake twice.

Funnily enough, Phil Scully was the one who got them to pick Toby Greene, and his salary was inside the cap anyway. GWS got reamed by the AFL for that one.

Personally i'd say the club passed on Dangerfield before i'd say the club passed on Cyril, but each to their own... I reckon Myers is going to smash it this year.
