The Eagles plea was that in defining a strike, it was something that was forceful and to cause harm. Since Jako's handbag slap wasn't with force according to the appeals board, he was free to go.

OH NO a precedent has been set, a slap doesn't constitute a strike, can't wait to see all the players running around bitchslapping their opponents this week & the AFL can't do a thing about it, unless they change the wording of the rule. :D

I think you're overreacting.

I doubt many players will be going around slapping each other as it doesn't do much for their reputation.

I'm sure Jako regrets doing it.

Not overeacting just stating a fact, the tribunal ruled that a bitch slap is OK, so if a player is giving you the irrates by niggling you, holding your jumper etc, just give him a bitch slap to try & stop him, the tribunal can't rub you out for it.

A sensible decision by the appeals tribunal. Given Jackovich's record he didn't deserve a game over a minor indiscretion ... perhaps just a fine for a stupid (rather than a malicious) act. I want tonight's mob at the tribunal if we have another McLeod like incident.

How can you be stating a fact when it's something that is going to happen in the future?

GAWD it is so hard sometimes, FACT the tribunal has ruled that a bitchslap is nothing, not in the future, but the present, therefore they have set a precedent.
