One stat I find remarkable is that Jamar does not have even 1 inside 50 this season. Conversely Naitanui has 22 at 5.5 per game.
It's not that he's continually dropping back, he only has 4 rebound 50's (Naitanui has 3).
Since Jamar is high in contested marks, wouldn't you want him pushing forward and being an offensive weapon?
We would love Jamar to be able to spend time up forward clunking pack marks, but he's been playing as our only ruckman this year, and has been doing a great job. I'm sure if we had the option to rotate Jamar and Cox in the ruck the stats would be different.
In any case whilst its great to see NicNat tap the ball to himself and deliver the ball inside 50 you cant rely on just one player doing this time after time, yes it would be good but teams are going to wake up to his "tricks", just like we have scene with Liam Jurrah.
The beauty of having a more traditional set up is that you spread the load. ll Jamar needs to do is keep knocking it down to there advantage and let the midfielders do their thing.
