Of course.. but I'll use the Wellingham example agst North a few yrs back where we had Swan and Pendlebury on the sidelines. Malthouse threw Wellingham into the guts and he amased 40 possessions.

It's easy to use your best 22 analogy as a black and white example. It's a lot more deepseated than that in my opinion.

I think it was against Melbourne

There is a Interview with him in Inside Footy this week

Max Gawn???

He's always good fun. Looks like Ragnar Lothbrock of Vikings

:D

Dave, yes I know you mean Mr Aish, that will be a good read too.

I posted earlier in the thread that I consider Aish to be a well balanced mid and that I liked to see four of those types selected in the 22. I'd consider Aish to be the fifth in line for one of those spots. Now that Wells is injured and the players I'd have behind Aish(Wills, Broomhead, Sier) have to my knowledge yet to play a preseason game, I'd think he would need to put in one hell of a stinker to not be picked for round one.

On his indifferent form in the two games so far, from what little I've seen I don't believe he played the same role for any extended period of time except for a stint in defense on the weekend which in my opinion he is not well suited to anyway. Last year he played his best football when he had continuity in his role, focusing on just playing football and not where he was supposed to be and what he should be doing there. Hopefully once the season proper starts he will get that and he can pick up where he left off last season.

But How will Prove he be able to play On-Ball when playing on the Flanks mostly?

In the VFL or from the wing with stints on ball. At AFL level I think Aish needs to start from the wing. But we seem to prefer Sidebottom and Crisp there right now and that's not counting Wells or Varcoe. I'd love to see Buckley try Sidebottom more permanently on the half forward flank which would open up a wing position.

Sidebottom could Create danger up Forward and could also be a Crumber that we have Needed

It also means we can drop Mayne ;)

I thought Mayne was a Medium Forward more then a Small Forward. Though Elliot and Fasolo be way ahead of Mayne at the Moment

Good to see him have a Better Game Today. 24 Touches,8 Marks,2 Tackles and used it at 79%

Except for 2 Kick in 1st Qtr used the Ball Well.

Should play RD 1 Now

He will go very well too
Just do his thing and with style.

Except in the wet weather where he will let others get wet ;)

Yes he does.:thumbsu:

He plays well in the Wet. He was BOG last year in the VFL vs Casey(Casey) when it Rained nearly all day. Got back in the AFL Side after that

The wet comment was a play on his umbrella work with his girlfriend walking and he didn't share his umbrella

For someone who is such a highly rated kick fmd his daisy cutters a really anoying, Especially when he has time and space. FFS its not that hard to kick a simple drop punt. I was willing to let it go last year as it was hard enough for him just to get the ball in his hands but now its time he has to eliminate that from his game. For such a good kick he should be above that.

I do notice when he has time he Tries to kick the Perfect Kick and that is why I reckon you see those Shockers. He is Fantastic by Hand. Need to play on Instinct and not think too much.

That is why I see him as a Possible Gun Inside Mid

I also see this, but can't see him getting a run there anytime soon. We have a lot of guys whose ideal position is in the guts.

Who do you see ahead of him in the Guts?

Greenwood Wells Pendlebury De Goey to start... and all those guys need to come back into the team.

I have Aish ahead of Greenwood and Wells is a Worry to be getting many Games this Year
