We need KPP's and its hard to go past him as a late draft pick.

He's only 19, holds down CHB at SANFL level easily and was rarely beaten this year, good mark, can rebound, can play forward, aerobically good, about 191cm and built like a brick s-house. I rate him higher than baby Fergus and certainly more versatile.

I think Essendon are interested. We might be sorry if we miss out

As much as i want him to stay and as much as i want him to play at the highest level, i just dont think he is 1) tall enough for a KPP in the afl 2) quick enough and 3) his kick is not the best....he was primed to be taken last year and wasnt...i would be very surprised if he was picked up but wish him the best if we was....

Wasn't he part of the rookie camp last year???????

I think we had him trian with us once and we overlokked him in the drafts. No offence but Fergus has more talent in his little finger than James has.

He's got a better brain then Fergus, not to mention committment. And I think he may have beaten him when Sturt played the Eagles this year.

As for size, he's almost identical in height and weight to our current CHF Ian Perrie. Needs to improve his kicking I guess, but has good pace for his size.

Ok boys this is an opinion of James from a Sturt employee that has been in close contact with him all year and watch every league and reserves game closely in 2005.
Basically he has all the attributes to make it he just needs to polish certain aspects of his games. Was in and out of the senior side most of the season but managed to cement his spot in the seniors late in the season due to injuries and he took his chance with both hands. Started the season in the league side and than last his spot several times even though he was playing consistent footy, started as a forward aswell and was moved down back half way through a Nth Adelaide game and than stayed there for the rest of the year. Prefers to play at CHF over CHB but is becoming very confident in backing his own ability down back.
Has beautiful strong hands will take anything rain, hail or shine. Skills need a bit of polish but his goalkicking technique is very good. Is ready to go physically and will account for himself very very well if the chance is there for him. He is a commited kid and works hard as hell on the track, deserves his chance if he gets it.

I rate him. I cant believe he was taken last year, he has one of the best set of hands for a kid his age. Has only kept improving this year and he gets possies to as well as marks. Bit rusty but has a footy brain and can impose himself on the game with his solid frame.
