No but I'm not looking at it in a field positional view I'm looking at the team as a whole. If we are looking for a premiership in the short term then yes I do believe Vince would outperform anyone outside the best 22. His last half of the year was underrated. If we are looking for the long term then why bother with Pods.

If we manage to be top 2-4 then why get rid of Vince. As I said I can't see anyone outside the best 22 outperforming him

Looks like we are taking a long term view in the midfield where we have lots of quality young players.

And in the forward line where we have had 2 significant injuries to key players we are taking a short term view until the injuries are healed.

Is that an accurate assessment?

WOW - your comprehension skills suck. They suck.

Negative, yes because over the past 15 years we haven't won a premiership and over the past 18 months the club has been in free fall from one drama to the next.

Win a premiership and I'll shut up.

Now, if you can product a document that shows this perceived negativity if mine, post it. Every single post us negative, my god you you can not be so wrong. Show me and everyone ekes Otherwise, STFU you useless human being because you are wrong. You are so wrong, it's not funny. I am so sick of this misconception that it's bloody not funny.

Product it and show everyone how negative I am or get the **** out.

Wow... You are right... I'm sorry. You are a happy guy .

We are all unique snowflakes.

Posters might be positive, pessimistic, horny, analytical, disruptive, stats driven, intuitive, thoughtful, saucy, jocular, temperamental, picky, churlish, critical, sophisticated... mostly horny though. Some see premierships on the horizon, others seeing a string of gargantuan errors snowballing out of control. It's quite a melting pot!

From time to time, there might be different attitudes towards things. I know... shock, horror.

If you aren't prepared for this cross section, best to write your own blog and disable comments instead of posting on here.

In fact I don't think I am the only one getting weary of the constant negativity. We are about to start a new season if you are not excited and optimistic that's fine and up to you. But the overbearing and over the top nature of the posts are unrealistically negative.
Is it?

Why the fifty billion posts whinging about it then?

If we have the salary cap space then yes, go for Gibbs. I reckon he will really step it up in the coming years.

Have u watched him? I know this may be not the best assessment of a player but when u have him as your DT player and therefore watching him the entire game you gain a bit of knowledge about his game.. Not once this year did I see him go into a pack so I guess we can conclude he must be an outside player. But wait up he is slow with a decent kick why would we want a slow player with a decent kick if we're going to be paying him the big bucks as a FA.. May aswell pay Dew to come back..

Gf day.. Adelaide behind by 3 points on our HFF. Bootsma and Gibbs are 5m away from the ball I will gaurantee Bootsma will get it goin his way

I answered that. The overbearing use of negative hyperbole.

And I also believe it was a single post I responded to. I wasn't going around hanging shit on every post he made.

The only time I get frustrated with BF is when posters just attack another poster for just disagreeing with them.
We are on here to post our views and sure lets disagree as we will disagree with many posts and even attitudes but starting personal attacks achieves nothing for anybody and lowers standards of our site .
Look how many posters disagree with Vader and Jenny 61 and even bait them , but they never return with personal attacks.
Re Pods my view is this guy cost us nothing as could have got as delisted FA and lets face it we still have many players on our list we could have got rid of and Pods on 1 leg would give better service than many of them .
Lets face it also we are that desperate for falls we re- signed McKernan .

Interesting that you single out Mattrox for being repetitive.
For being repetitive? No, I think you've misunderstood.

My biggest bug bear on this board is posters who try to say what other posters can and cannot post.

Posters can be as over whelmingly positive or over whelmingly negativeas they want if that's how they feel.

And yes I'm aware that saying posters shouldn't tell others posters what they should/shouldn't say sort of doubles up on itself but I'm sure you get the distinction.

I would not want to impinge on anyone's right to free speech. At the same time if hyperbole is used (the melodramatic ott stuff) by one poster and I disagree then why should anyone curtail my right to use hyperbole in reply - even if it is sarcastic?

It is starting to appear that double standards are being applied.
Posters have carte blanche to post negatively sarcastic and degrading posts about the club. And if anyone disagrees they are taunted as a sycophant. - name calling.

But If someone replys to an ott sarcastically negative post with an equal measure of sarcasm, it's now telling other people how to post.

I call bullshit.

That's about all I have to say about it.

With regards to Pods, we have 2 key forward line players injured last year. One is still developing and the other has ???? over return date and on how well he can play when he does return. How is it overtly wrong to have a short term solution to a short term problem? Premiership challengers or not is it better to develop a stable structure for the entire season or play a changeable stop gap structure for part of the season and then revert to 2 kpf's later on?

I have a hunch we'll get at least 3 serviceable years out of Pods. If we manage him wisely and rest him a bit during seasons there is no reason he can't continue to perform at a high level. His presence will certainly put Jenkins on his mettle, which will be a good thing.

:p in case of emergency break glass

I went and watched jenkins 2013 highlights on afc.com.au.

Geez I hope he comes on again this season. His size and pace can facilitate him becoming a very dangerous forward. Some of his second efforts were amazing - a few matchwinning. (See efforts late in cats and roos games)

Would really like to see us manage his development and keep him in kpf rotations this season.
And get more work into his ruck skills.

Agree I thought he was having an excellent season until injured. Really the only knock I had was his goal kicking which seemed so reliable when he started with us in 2012.

Unfortunately it turned sour in 2013 and he ended with 24.24 I think it was. If he had kept his 2012 standard and returned something like 32.16 we would have been more excited I think. Sort that out and he becomes a very good prospect

Fatigue and then confidence probably impacted that more than ability imo. Fixable. Has kicked some ripping goals.

He did have a few toughies to kick. It seemed to be the Crows liked to bring the ball down the boundary line rather than down the middle this year, so it resulted in him getting more than a few set shots from tight angles.

It's these sort of posts. They aren't replies, they aren't responses disagreeing with the opinion.

You are not getting any hope because you already smashed the lego tower all over the floor and stormed out the room.

Don't project your negative perception of events onto everything Noble does.

But you have one of the most negative outlooks on the entire board that I'm betting quite a few put very little stock in your narrow and limitied view.

But releasing your bowels over every thread is not going to win us a premiership any sooner. Good thing you are not a Cleveland Indians fan, you would have jumped out the window by now.

not sure it could be deemed an excellent season before injury. wasn't terrible by any means, but not a quantum leap (was it a leap at all?) from his very solid 2012.

he just shows something special at times. athletic beast with some little tricks (see first goals in afl). his kicking will be fine and he seemed to 'just' miss / posters on many occasions. imo, its more his high marking which was evident early on that didn't seem to progress much in 2013

looking forward to hopefully a reliable 35+ goal kicker for many yrs to come

It's these sort of posts. They aren't replies, they aren't responses disagreeing with the opinion.

I asked these 3 questions in 2 posts with them being brashly brushed off after Alex's initial rant. Not one was answered directly or adequately.

Remind me again which younger player Pods is pushing out?

So that means no-one. Pods is pushing out no young player. Glad we got that straight.

Next question, which young forward has been available so far this post season?

And which forward in the draft could slot straight into the senior side without SANFL development?

Then with no answer again there was a reply.

If you make a claim, put up or shut up as Alex himself says in one of the posts prior to me asking a valid question and in response to my answers.

He lost his shit and made claims that he could not substantiate. Like wise broad sweeping statements with no fact to back them up are fair game for criticism. If those claims are dripping in sarcasm and lacking in substance then people are just supposed to say "oh you are right the AFC **** everything up, lets get out the cat'o nine tails and start whipping ourselves Da Vinci Code style"

It's easy to cut passages out to paint a picture, but unless you go back and look at the fact that I actually asked 3 legitimate question and got sarcasm as a response .........

May I suggest that if someone wants to "smash their lego tower all over the floor" on an internet forum then the also need to be aware that they could well be called out on the dummy spit.
