The AFL have said today that the Sicily free kick was correct. So basically that means nothing and we will never see it paid again in 2019.

Can't stand him but I like what he did, intentional or no. The umpiring has been hilariously bad throughout the first two rounds and giving a fifty in that spot (given the kick was probably about an 80% chance and the game was iced anyway) to get your point across forcefully was the right move imo.

I think the umps do watch players like Sicily more closely and tend to give them less benefit of the doubt. That's a shame every player should be judged on every incident the same.

Probably the bigger issue though is that opposition players will always target and try and bait him. That's the price of being an in your face kind of player.

To be fair. Sicily takes little cheap shots at people off the ball all the time (like most defenders)

It is up to him now to learn to deal with this because teams will 100% target him.

Imagine if he played for anybody else. You know that Clarkson would have Puopolo into him at all times.

Not denying he doesn't deserve to get ping when he dishes it out, but the other season when Carlton players just kept targeting him, but they only paid a free for when he retaliated. Has to work both ways.

The one with Gowers and Impey on the boundary, Gowers went at him first, then Impey retailiated.

They need to penalise the instigator, otherwise shit like this will continue.

The issue is that they don’t see the instigator do it, then ping what they do see. It’s like you think they are omniscient or something.

We were setting out to agitate you, note that we’d hit one of your blokes once and your mob would come back with two, three hits.

Very good player, he's one of those players that if he was at your club you'd love him eg. Mitch Robinson for us.

Also that free kick for the feather touch on Schache was an absolute joke, that tool Christian owes him an apology.
