James Walker

Definately not. Pretty weak draft and he's a walk up start. From what i understand anything below pick 20 shouldn't snare you someone in the best 22.

Fringe players who get about 1/2 the games per year are generally traded for pick 18-30. Someone like Walker could snare pick 12-17 depending on the draft.

But then again i might be biased.

I'd want to know how much money he was on first.

Jimmy is a tough one, last year I would have taken your pick 23 and laughed you out of the room but this year he kinda cemented himself (not that he was ever in and out of the team).

I've always underrated him a bit so my views probably a bit biased, but I want to at least see a few spots open up for some youngsters we've got coming through, only issue would be are talented youngsters are mostly kpp.

I'd rather get the pick if he was on reasonable money though, free some cap space and open up a spot for dodd or webster.

Pick 23 i'd have to say would be one we'd take if he wanted the trade, but if he wanted to stay we'd probably keep him.

James Walker is without doubt THE MOST under-rated guy in out team and one of the most in the league. He has played 120 games, the last 80 odd in succession and does the job week in and week out.
It would have to be a first rounder at least. And we have Jeffrey and Medders... we do not need Leon!

I'd do it, Davis has shown he can play as a burst midfield player with pretty decent effect. And he's young with room for improvement. Would be a handy player off the bench.

But i'm not CC.

don't want davis. I don't rate walker that highly, if port would accept pick 11 and pick 23 for Carr, then i would trade walker. I would trade walker for H Black to. Doubt any of those trade would happen, so i am happy to just keep walker.

Interesting you should bump this now mr.11. I was just thinking this morning how glad I was that my earlier thoughts that Jimmy might be put up for trade were wrong. So very, very glad.
I then went onto think that I reckon he will be a one-club man. He's purple through and through. That also made me feel happy too! :)

I think he might struggle for a game next year. He really hasn't shown much as a midfielder, Is a handy back pocket player. He Hayden and Webster might find they are fighting for one spot in the team

Jimmy normally plays off the half back flank where he can use his pace through the middle. The most underated player in the side!

Agree dockertor, he's a very good defensive HBF who can provide some good run down the wing (catch him if you can!!), but I don't think BB rates any of our players very highly, so James would have to be the most under-rated of a bunch of non-rated players for us... ;)

He's alright but not one of the better defensive midfielders/half backs going around. His 2nd half to the year was pretty dissapointing.

IMO, Webster will pass him.

Still in our best 22 though. Would play him before a McManus or a Cook.

M Carr and D Headland will be far better value off the half back flank next year, these two players i believe are better than J Walker. There are three reasons why i think J walker won't be able to play that HB role next year. Freo has picked up two midfielders this year, D Headland played well against st kilda off the HB ( connolly may try that again), when M Carr first came to freo he played a HB type role, I believed he played his best football for the club when he played this sort of HB/defensive midfielder role.
J walker will be playing for the back pocket spot. I think R Hayden has football quickness playing out of the back pocket that J Walker doesn't.
Having said that Walker would be in my 22 next year

Just to name a few, I rate Mcpharlin and Pavlich highly
