Jason Blake

I was just playing my newly bought AFL Live 2003 game on the PS2 D) and I was going through the subs and I found his name on the list. I completely forgot he plays for us. Infact, I can barely remember him. So my (dumb) question is...do you rate him and if so, where do you think he fits into the team?

One of those mid size types who doesn't seem to have a position, along the lines of Voss, Begley and Wulf. Best described as a utility. Needs to add a string to his bow to become a specialist, tagging seems to be the go. Took Camporeale apart in round 1 with a great disciplined tagging performance before the OP set in.

My biggest criticism of him is that he is slow hand to foot, and seems to lack peripheral vision. Needs to get a hurry on or will become another Ben Walton.

Has anyone seen him at training? and how is he going? haven't heard anything about him on any of the saints sites

Blake is just the type of player we really need to take that extra step. He hasn't got near establishing himself, however it would be great if he can develop to the stage we he is really pushing for inclusion in our first choice team as Troy Schwartze did last season.

I'm not aware of him being an especially good fit for any one position, but that can be a positive for him in that he can offer versatility.

For his sake I hope does come on, the club can definately benefit from improved depth, & his time is due.

Blake is a youngster with guts and will be one of the Saints leaders in a few years. He had a quiet season last year (compared to the year before) but the Saints are definately better off with him than without him.

I like Blake. Haven't seen him since 2001, but reckon he's a good player. What's the PS2 game like?
