Does anyone else agree it would be pretty darn handy to have him on our list right about now, Williams goes down so you start with Morris on Franklin, Lake on Roughhead and cloke to sit in the hole in front of Franklin or to be used as a foward when Will isn't there to just get the ball to ground ?(played his best footy as a loose man in defence reading the flight of the ball)

Yes and I have said I would be interested in him, in other recent posts.

Problem is what does he do when Williams and Minson are playing?

Considering we have to take an absolute minimum of 3 in the national draft who are we going to get rid of? McDougall, Skipper and ?

Better off taking our chances on 17/18 year olds. When the Gold Coast(and then West Sydney) come in we are going to have some pretty shotty picks in the draft as it is... about the time Cloke/Hudson/Welsh/Eagleton/Johnson/West/Akermanis will be gone and throng of guys are 30 or getting close like Lake, Gilbee, Murphy, Hargrave, Gia, Cross, Boyd, Hahn.

Was great for Pies when loose man in defence, however when one on one
was very ordinary:- hence delisted by pies. Dons also had a look at him last year when he played with their 2nds.. was ok

Just a bit below to AFL standard

Cheers

I like cloke as aplayer buth he's got to many defiencies. Poor kick, needs to play loose man in defence when made accountable doesn't measure up.

From what I've seen at Willy, he would be just a bit slow in leg speed to be a great AFL player. Although Scott Meyer from willy at 196cm, 92 kg and only 22 years old. He spoils well and could end more than just an extra backman at the dogs.

Yeah I agree. I think we need to start looking more and more at Williamstown for potential players.

Just look at Dale Morris. He battled to get a game with Werribee in the early days and look at him now. There are some great young players at the Seagulls and they would come pretty cheap.

and how much of that was evaluated during

Brisbane Lions versus Collingwood Grand Final II

After our very own Jason Akermanis had decapitated supposed Collingwood captain and midfeild dynamo Nathan Buckley well before half time.

And

Jonathan Brown had just about literally murdered a very isolated Rhys Shaw.

The leadership was destroyed in the first 40 minutes that day. It was not Jason Clokes fault that the Nathan Buckley leadership capitulated under Jason Akermanis pressure.

I don't know if its worth chasing him now, but I'd much prefer him over Tiller or Wight to be coming in come finals time.
Could even roll the dice if we're on top and send Lake to full foward for a quarter and put Cloke back to fullback. It's a shame but hopefully our backline wont matter because the boys will just be pumping it out every clearance :)

Have you been down to Willy to watch him? He is not at AFL level, just a good VFL player.

I would prefer Doogs to Cloke right now.

I'm watching the Willy game on TV at the moment. Is Jason Cloke eligible to play for the Doggies in the AFL ? Or does he just play VFL only ?

thanks Butane.

so when the doggies affiliated with willy this year, they chose not to get him onto their afl list ? is that right ?

i just wanted to know that the doggies thought he wasn't good enough to play afl, rather than there being some technical reason he couldn't play, given tht willy was affiliated with collingwood last year...
:)

He is playing a good game at Willy today at CHF from what I'm hearing on the radio feed.

He couldn't play for Collingwood last year either. He wasn't on an AFL list. The majority of players playing for Willy aren't on an AFL list either.

Jason Cloke is a good player at VFL leval. But can not play at the AFL Leval. He played a couble of ok games for the pies.

He played in an AFL Grand Final

I think a lot of people have a chip on their shoulder about him because he is a Cloke, and he used to have a pretty high profile.

I think he would be a handy acquisition on our playing list that would not cost much.
