I like him a lot in the media, but is it just me or is he a scary, scary man?

He seems to have the ability to intimidate most on Fox Footy when he is on.
you whould be scary if you looked like shrek as well, as for fox footy , he only scares young players and hack journos .ps he could also play a bit.

"You are a player for the Hawthorn Football Club. I am on the Board. I don't think you should interview me" or words to that effect, said Dunstall to Shane Crawford at the street talk Logies interview. Don't know about scary but he shows signs of being what is known in the trade as a d...head.

Agree Grobbecker.. Someone needs to put the fat has-been out to dry.

At least he's a has-been, you're a never will be. Why he "intimidates" people is because he is an intelligent man, and most cannot compete with him on an intellectual level. That segment with Shane Crawford was simply Dunstall joking about a player interviewing a board member, and if you can't see it was lighthearted I really feel sorry for you.

Come to think of it, I"m not all that surprised people on this forum are confused by Dunstall, intellect is not exactly in abundant supply on BigFooty.

And you know what Ive done in my life, and what my future is do you, all by a post on a website?

And personally I didnt see it as light hearted at all, I saw it as someone implying that Crawf would be in the sh**ter if he didnt get out of Dunstall's fat and drunken face.

The sooner you get rid of Dermott and Dunstall from Glenferrie, the better.

Dunstall is entertaining to listen to and was a champion player. I hate the throwing around of the term 'has-been'. IMO that term should be reserved for people that stay on far too long in their chosen profession and start to embarass themselves. Dunstall went out at the pinnacle of the game. By the logic used around here, when we all get old and retire, regardless of how good we are in our jobs, we automatically become has-beens. Ludicrous.

.
As an employee/contractee of an opposition outlet, he didn't want to be interviewed. He could have done it in a light hearted manner. He chose to pull rank and to threaten Crawford. The interview promptly stopped. Contrast that with the approach of Sam Lane and the soapie actors from other networks. The fact that 9 chose to show it is interesting.

I got the feeling it was more of an 'in joke'.

Dunstall plays to character, I dont know how much of the aggression is real, I think most of it is staged.

Most, but not all.

He did. Could have executed it better by I felt he was drunk, caught of guard, and put on the spot.

He chose to pull rank and to threaten Crawford.
Nonsense. That's just what you'd like to believe.

He's a football commentator.

The fact that 9 chose to show it is interesting.
You mean you never noticed how much Sam constantly bagged him on TFS when he was a regular? I'm indifferent about the guy but Sam was being unprofessional in how he treated Dunstall on TFS.

Dunstall has a pretty prickly personality, he's just not likeable. He lacks the approachability or cheerful cockiness that makes Brereton or McGuire watchable even if the do give you the poos.

However he's not an embarrassment to footy like Newman or Sam Lane, and he's actually been getting better recently. Generally he's got something intelligent to offer, if he can stop choking on bile.

Which Bulldog's player has kicked a 1000+ goals? Which Bulldog's has played in four premierships?

I liked it how on League Teams last week he (literally) dedicated 10 minutes to Hawthorn and 30 seconds to Melbourne in their match preview.

Bring back Huddo.

Dunstall is a living legend. Not only the best full-forward of the modern era, but he's a ripper bloke.

Intelligent enough to be CEO in crisis time at Hawthorn, and witty enough to be a regular host of football media shows.

To those who are bagging him, you simply don't understand where he's coming from. As a general rule, Dunstall is one of the best human's ever to live.
