St Kilda... good pick by the Saints
For sure... I'm absolutely fuming!!! The fact that the kid has only ever played 2 games has more to do with the fact that he's been at the club that's won the last 3 premierships than the fact that he's a sh*t player. He would have certainly got more game time in the midfield next year, and is DEFINITELY worth more than a friggin 2nd round draft pick! Ludicrous!

I don't know too much about him. What I do like is that he is 19?? and comes from the best team in the comp where he was first emergency in the GF?? so he must go alright.

I can't find any news of this anywhere - is it a done deal?

Seems so - was a brief mention in I think the Sun.

Sounds like he might be a good get at a cheap price.

There are a couple of detailed posts about the lad over at the Saintsational board.

Seems like a likely lad.

The washup is this. 2001 has been touted as the strongest draft for many years.

The Saints now have FIVE 1st rounders on their list from that draft.

Ball, Clarke, Dal Santo, Brookes (15th for Port) Gram (19th for Brisbane).

If it wasn't crystal clear how the Saints were building their list, it should be now.

Interest shown by the Saints in Koops from Freo, Cam Mooney from Geelong, and David Haynes from WCE.

And your point is?????

Sorry cant see whom you support any more as the members list is shut down. If you are a Wobbles supporter I would go very quiet on alluding to sales of prohibited narcotics at football clubs.

Persecution complex or what? I said 'in StKilda' not 'at StKilda'.

Considering this thread is about a trade of a player to the St.kilda Football Club and not to Ackland St in the suburb of St.Kilda, the inference is that prohibited narcotics are sold at the St.kilda football club.

No persecution complex pal, just a cheap and nasty shot from someone obviously not happy with their clubs performance in the draft period so far, and wants to drag down another club to their tawdry level.

Still seems a pointless comment.

good pickup. now just post that 20,000 more times, and you'll have covered every pointless comment on this bulletin board.

tough crowd.

If you want a laugh go to the General Talk board. This thread was a discussion on one of the first confirmed trades of the week and you want to troll it.

The other posts in this thread were not pointless. It happened to be started by a Collingwood supporter and was added to by supporters from various clubs.

Dont think I dont have a sense of humour and the post was an obvious play on words with his name, but it was pointless.

No matter really I suppose.

In relation to the topic; I'd be happy with deal if I was the Saints, he seems a likely type. I was interested in seeing him down at windy hill potentially.

In relation to the remark; seemed to be a pretty harmless throwaway line to me, can't see why you got so worked up about it Joffaboy. And the inference to me was that he was referring to St Kilda the suburb as opposed to the team.

Good gamble by both teams.

The Lions get a decent pick in the draft, and the Saints get a promising young player that wanted to return to Victoria. It took Gram about 18 months to realise how hard he had to work to get a game, and he really showed a bit against Richmond. Unfortunately he will be remembered for his clanger against Fremantle that gifted them a goal. Has a big upside so could be a great pick up for the Saints, but could also just be a fringe player with his style.

Definitely a good deal for both sides. The saints get a better player than they would have got with pick #23, who has had two years at the most successful club in the land.

For the Lions, they lose a little pressure on the salary cap. As the value of players' contracts increase over time, having too many players like Gram and Morrison who stay for years before playing a game can really hurt. Better to throw the dice in the draft lottery and see what comes up.

Although if they're smart, they'll be looking to upgrade that draft pick by trading away Notting or someone else on the fringe. They're only likely to use three picks, so they want them to be as high as possible.
