Has anyone had any info about Jay in the nationals to date, looking at a photo of him, a big young fellow, in the Jobe Watson mould, big but not quick.

so drafted and look like a good find only to have injuries cruel his ability to get fit enough for AFL so far is that what you're saying?

I hope we dont draft him for his name he is big slow a little clumsy and i cant see him making it

When i saw him on the weekend, i was laughing at how bad he was.

No doubt improve on that horrible performance, as hes rated quite highely...

Hasn't had a good championships, but has kicked a lot of goals at TAC level, most weeks being double and triple teamed.

He has very good hands, is a strong lead and has a pretty big kick but does spray them.

Physically he has a long way to go. Wasn't in any of the TAC U16 development squads, so he definately has a lot of room for improvement fitness wise. Could definately develop and play higher up the ground.

Regardless, he certainly has a truck load of talent in a shallow draft. I reckon we should go for him.

41 goals in 9 games is not just a name. He has had no pre-season and Sheeds is good at getting the ful potential out of players. Also he is still young, so he could possibly play another season of TAC Cup, but I reakon it would be better drafting him, and at worst playing amongst men, instead of boys.

I have seen him play and a good friend of mine plays for Calder and has played on him.
His kicking reminds me a bit of Richo. Has a booming kick, but does tend to spray at times.

He is bottom age, so he is still going to grow. He has lost 5kg's in season, which comes as no suprise as he hadn't trained at a serious level until this year. He did not do a pre-season and his strength is going to improve. He will be a good size once he makes the AFL.

He is also a good runner, he is very powerful on the lead and his hands are much better than okay.

In terms of scope for improvement Jay is right up there, because he is coming off a very small base.

You're post and personal vandetta against Jay might make more sense if it was readable.

Pick him up next year.
Foulds Jnr the following year.

If they can play we'll find out in Bendigo.
They dont come along often & if there are good early indications then the club should take the gamble. The problem happens when clubs either elect to not pick them up & another club reaps the benefits OR the club picks them then finds out they arent up to it but insist on persevering with them on the list.
