Out of contract not in the 22. Hasn't really got his career going so far.

Rated him highly pre getting drafted as that big bodied hff that could go into the midfield

Was a bombers fan growing up so would probably want to stay

But Does he need a fresh start somewhere? If so what's he worth?

Hammy a few times, ankle, shoulder, ribs. Just constant three-four week injuries.

I don't really rate Laverde that highly. Has some attractive qualities in terms of being big bodied, quick and a strong overhead mark. However he also has ordinary endurance, he's not agile (so mostly just quick in a straight line) and his kicking is poor. He's also very injury prone, although I don't think that's the only thing holding him back.

Perhaps if he ever had a sustained run with no injuries, he'd build that fitness to a new level and would be able to play as a genuine big bodied mid and in that role maybe his kicking would be less of an issue.

The sort of player that if we kept, I'd be fine with it and hope that he gets a better run but if he wanted big dollars I'd be quite happy to trade him even if we don't get that much in a trade.

I think he built himself up too quickly, he’s a monster but if you look at his under 18s footage he was like a slightly bigger Stephenson. All movement based and very little body on body stuff. I think he isn’t carrying that extra size well and has certainly lost some agility he showed at junior level. If I was him I’d be trying to strip 5 kgs of muscle and work on a running game.

I see no reason for any club to look at him for what Essendon would want in return, Laverde is a local boy so i cant see him moving willingly unless some club was crazy and offered him a big money deal.

With his injury history he doesn't hold much value despite his obvious talent. I cant see him leaving anytime soon

If I'm us I'm riding it out until the end either way, no real point cutting and running now unless he pushes for it.

Ask five Essendon supporters you’d get five different answers. Really hasn’t had enough run at it to make a definitive call. Has bossed games up forward and in the middle and had stinkers in both. Personally think it’s something like his first game for the seniors this year vs Melbourne, high half forward, something in the mound of Adelaide’s Tom Lynch.

I'm a lot more agreeable to losing Laverde for not much in return now than what I was a couple of years ago. Even if he's fit, not sure he has a spot in the team next year. He's been in the competition four years now with not much to show for it in return. Happy to offer him a one year deal but if he wanted to leave, I can't see the club standing in his way. Loads of potential, horrible run with injury and you can tell that all the time he's spent out of the team has ****ed his development something horrid.
