There does seem to be a love by security agency's catching folks with their pants down, and Mr Epstein could have provided them with many examples. Mr Epstein seems to have been given protection by various US authorities over the years and has claimed to have some links himself to CIA.

And he died in a guarded cell with cameras, but no one or the cameras saw anything. That's the work of spooks.

IMO, that source bears all the hallmarks of being part of an operation like many that came before it, some of which got decommissioned in the last few years.

Specifically, no idea!

In general, Intelligence agencies regard all information as useful, particularly of the compromising sort that enables blackmail. So getting such material on rich Americans in the halls of power and the odd Prince or two would be useful to them - whether is MOSSAD, US agencies or some other. Compromising material is perhaps the best lever for your 'friends'. Epstein and Ms Maxwell could have provided plenty of that, it could go out to a few different agencies.
