Haha, great post and describes the media perfectly

The only way Jay Clark knew Fyfe and Hoges were having a few beers together with 2 older blokes at "Bait & Tackle " was because it was reported on our board

They never state their sauces, therefore zero credibility

I hope Hogan has a great year and wins the Coleman, because if anyone deserves good times it's him :thumbsu:

Big risk trading a top 5 pick and a player if that what was offered. Maybe there was more to the supposed deal. for a bloke who only this year had a cancer scare! And would have had to offer big money and a long term deal for him to move. Always the chance of the cancer coming back. Family history and all. For me thats way to big of a risk.

And the rest

Persistent rumblings this week in the media that Jesse is set for showdown talks next week with his manager, his family and the Melbourne Football Club.

After the year he's endured he may request a trade back to WA to be closer to family and support his mother. Both Fremantle and West Coast set to pounce should he request a trade.

2 & 4 for Hogan?

If Hogan we really in play as Nixon and Sheahan would have you believing, then a deal would have been done. Freo were angling for pick 2 since yesterday. If Melbourne were keen to offload Hogan Freo would have flipped us pick 2 and next years first. Paperwork would have been drawn up and signed once Weller deal went down.
Tells me he's happy and wants to stay. The club isn't moving Hogan on due to being fearful he might want out one day.

But he was seen wearing Freo socks - he must be gone :drunk:

Isn’t he a free agent in 2 more seasons? I’m thinking it will be then or never. No point paying the high trade price for an extra season next year. All assuming he changes his mind in the future and wants to come back to Freo which is always the biggest hurdle.

Not a free agent unless the criteria changes to 7 years.

His first year of being eligible for playing AFL was 2014. So I think at this stage at the end of 2021 he'll be RFA unless AFL change the rules around FA. Which is possible.

I though the prelisted players year at the club counted, although it still makes it a year after his contract. Changing the rules is about the only way we are getting him then if at all.

I'm not fully across the rules for more listed players. I just assume it was the years they were eligible to play AFL.
