Good game today but it's just a matter of time before he's back to the old Jesse.. he's always been capable of the odd good game that makes people think maybe everything's changed
Sorry to burst your bubble of negativity; he's been good since being re-instated to the senior team.
Credit where credit is due I reckon.

I think he's been good the last three games. Since coming in against Carlton he's given the side exactly what is needed and is playing his role.

Much like Leigh Brown, the outstanding traits we want out of Jesse is that each week we know he is going to present and fight for the ball, something he's been doing. As long as that stays a feature in his game, keep him playing ahead of Cloke.

His attack on the football has been great. Definitely worth persisting with and he does play better when Cloke is not there. His speed in the contest and around the ground will be required against the Bulldogs.

So the old Jesse White is gone and now we have a consistent good player?

Sometimes people get confused between being negative and being realistic.

Give him credit Kappa.....I agree it is just a matter of time BUT three serviceable games in a row.

You can't ask for much more from him.

Well done White!

I actually thought he went missing for a fair chunk of the game today. Still managed the two goals, which will probably save him, but you'd think that Cloke would be putting the pressure on for next week with a 4 goal game today.

you can almost say the same for cloke... didnt he kick 3 out of his 4 goals in the 1st quarter?

Definitely went missing Apex but the two goals in the first quarter, was effectively when the game was won.

He is doing his job. I don't rate him at all, but he did his job today.

I don't think I ever suggested dropping him, or even suggested anything remotely close to that... but ok :drunk::drunk::drunk:
I think you've more gone the full step and suggested he will be dropped after next week??

My mate has been good friends with his family since a young age, told me some supporters have told him to kill himself over the boundary line in the past few years. Even though he's been bad, some personal attacks have been unnecessary. Good on him for doing his role in defence and now playing with more confidence.
Those so called supporters should be banned.

The problem is that Cloke can't play the role which White's been doing atm. Having Moore, Cloke and Cox in the forward line is too top heavy imo. White's been good the last three weeks because he's laying defensive pressure and finding the ball on the ground as well being an occasional forward target. Other than the forward target bit, Cloke can't do any of that. In terms of team structure the only player I can see Cloke replacing is Moore - but Moore is a good kick at goal and also lays defensive pressure. If Cloke had of kicked 10 in the reserves I still think it would be a mistake to play him next week. None of our forwards are dominating but the balance and spread of goalkickers has improved and something that we should be building on. Bringing Cloke back undermines that.

In short my problem with Cloke as a player is that he doesn't improve players around. All he gives you is his output and while he's a great contested mark his goalicking is really costing us. On the other hand, Cox makes Grundy better because he's a legitimate ruck chop out. Moore and White do a lot of work of the ball with forward pressure and are capable ground players. With the exception of White, all of our forwards are above average shots at goal.

From what I saw though, he worked reasonably hard and was involved for the majority of the game. Can't be accused of going missing under those circumstances, which was my point. I've been a defender of White consistently, and have always thought he got a bad rap on here, so don't think that I'm one of those guys who'll criticise him no matter what.

Agreed, but my concern is that he went missing when the pressure came on, which was after the first quarter. If Cloke consistently gets his 20ish posessions and kicks goals in the VFL the pressure will mount, but I think he'll be safe for this week.

Fair enough.

The "missing when the pressure is on" is the reason he will never make it IMO.

He gets another game he did his job today again.

Well done White.

Has taken 3 years but Collingwood supporters expectations are finally in line with this blokes ability.

Played a role and contributed very happy with what White is doing.

Unfortunately that is what our supporters are like. They are the biggest sooks when they don't get their way. There is no such thing as a bloke having a bad form slump. They see a slump, and they stamp the blokes papers. Langdon for example, young kid who rose to AFL level way before his time, and now everyone reckons he is a dud. Just really dumass supporters we have.

How is that injury excuse working for you after today's game?

So Monday morning he gets a 3 year contract?

Enjoy the moment BEEG.
